The website you gave resulted to an HTTP error 404?

  • mariquit Sep 23, 2008

I will just wait for it coming from you. I'm not good at this. Just want to capture my videos. Tnx for the effort. Don't know where else to go.

I tried from the USB drivers list, installed it and tried connecting my cam, but to no avail. By the way, the camcorder did not have a cd driver. When my Operating system was still Windows XP, I just bought a firewire (IEEE-1394) it came with a software for editing your videos, installed it and I captured the videos without any problems. Now my operating system is Windows Vista, and it can no longer detect the device. Why is that? Some said that it is the compatibility problems with my operating system.Maybe I should go back to Windows XP. He! He!

One more thing, the software that came with the firewire I used for editing is no longer working with my Windows Vista. It also has compatibility problems. Unlike with windows XP.

Thank you for the effort. I have another problem with my motorola v3. I found the latest driver for this phone. This time it came with a cd. I installed it, uploaded my pictures but during the transfer I cancelled it. The thing is when I started to open the application again (mobile phone tools) it cannot communicate with the software or can no longer detect the device. I checked the ports and even the device manager, tried also the add hardware, downloaded all the updates. Could it be that during the time I cancelled it, the application was still on the process, and this might cause the confusion? I tried uninstalling the software and even the 32 bit driver I downloaded & tried installing it again but still it resulted the same.Did I left something out?

sir, the only thing to do is to find your cd driver camed with your camcorder. as for now i cant find it anywhere. if my given link is not working with your camcorder after you installed it, better to find the cd driver on that. by the way have you tried the link that ive given to you?

thats the main problem. windows vista is a new OS unlike windows xp. there some compatibilities that accept on XP but not on vista. so thats why it cant detect your device. im still using windows xp right now because i found out that vista is not that stable at all. also, my drivers on each pc cant detect with using windows vista and so as your camcorder. so i really suggest to go back on XP. By the way theres not much advantage on vista. so i hope you solve your problem. thank you again!

JVC GR-DVL310 VISTA DRIVER

Your JVC is a MiniDV camcorder, which uses a Firewire connection for capture. Firewire drivers are standard for all DV camcorders, and built-in on every version of Windows since about Windows 98SE (well, they didn't work very well until Windows 2000).

You still need a capture application to complete the transfer. Most (maybe all) versions of Windows comes with Windows Movie Maker, which is a very basic program, but it can do this.

Normally, a DV camcoder can't be detected by Windows until you have it connected via Firewire, and have it the appropriate mode. On some cameras, this can be play or record (the latter would tranfer live video, or allow recording TO the camera), on others, you need to set the camera to a "link to PC" mode. I currently own Sony and Canon camcorders that both work in the former way, but my first DV camcorder was a JVC, and it did have to put in a "link to PC" mode to be detected by the computer. If you can't find the setting, you might want to check your user manual.

For still photos, it looks like you use a USB connection. I haven't found all the details on this camcorder, but this is likely to be a normal USB "storage class" connection. If so, your camcorder would show up like a disc drive, and you can drag photos over. Vista will support this by default, too.

The other way some older camcorders send photos is to appear to the system as a USB scanner type device. You would need a device driver for this, from JVC.

The user manual would be helpful here. You can get one via download if you don't have it:

Newsoft- Mr. photo

The Newsoft software is not design to download images from JVC camcorders to your PC. This software is included with JVC products to provide our customers with an editing tool. (using Newsoft programs you can touch up pictures, create albums or slide shows) To download images from the camcorder to the PC, you will need to use the provided JVC software Picture Navigator, JLIP Video Capture, or the USB connection depending on the model of your camera. Consult the above chart to determine which software you received with your camera.
