When I turn on the TV-nothing-when you push the menu button-it says "I am not working E4602L589-call Toshiba customer service rep" I have only had my TV for one year-I figure if that TV can tell me it is broke-you think it could fix its self-lol I am a single parent mom and by kids are dying without TV-lol Please Help if you have any ideas Thanks
You need to call toshiba for the code if you don't have your users manual. I am guessing that it is a worn out lamp. $200 for a new one. look online to get the correct one (it will be cheaper than toshiba). Also call your credit card company and it may still be under warranty. simply pull it out of the back and slide the new one in.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. goodluck!

Toshiba? Suspect that if it uses a Lamp for brightness (a model number would help) it may have failed----customer replaceable and if remove look to see it is not shattered inside--2 year, 2000 hour life is normal.
Go into the service menu and turn down the red push and red cut a few notches. Write down every value in the service menu and be careful to make sure you don't change anything else. Also, turn down the brightness a couple of clicks and the red glow will be gone.
Or, try this - Press Mute on the remote control twice, press Mute a third time and keep holding at the same time, press the Menu button on the TV front panel. If you do it correctly, you will see a small S on the screen. Congrats, you are in service mode. Press Menu on the remote to get to the adjustable settings. Be careful not to change anything without writting the original value down first. Also be careful of hitting other buttons on the remote. To reduce red push, Use the channel up down button until it says RCUT. Adjust the value using the volume button on the remote. I recommend setting RCUT to 80H, which is the preset value according to the service manual. To exit Service Mode, simply power off the TV. Good luck.
Unplug the tv for 1 minute plug it back in, turn it on, if the button still blinks and the menu does not come up the tv will need to be serviced. All tv's should see a menu come up when the menu button is pushed.
Toshiba model 57H93 worked perfectly last night. Turned off and went to bed. Turned on this morning, and nothing, it won't turn on. Checked all cords and cables, pushed reset button, and still won't turn on. What could cause this to happen?
There is a hidden tech menu where you adjust and SAVE THE ADJUSTMENTS.
/* Style Definitions */
mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt;
font-family:"Times New Roman";
ADJUSTMENTS MUTE, MUTE & HOLD ----THEN MENU
ON TV SET “S” SHOULD SHOW MENU AGAIN 7 FOR GRID, 3 FOR EACH COLOR 7 AGAIN TO SAVE AND EXIT NAVIGATE WITH 2, 4, 6 AND 8
If it does not save you have a problem with either the convergence output chips or the part of the set that stores the adjusments.
If this helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.
First make sure to hit the menu button on the TV's remote and if nothing is there then friend while the set is on turn a bright flashlight on and shine at angle into the set push the TV menu button if you can see a image then your back light is not working. You can also check the transformers they are close to were the wires plug into the panel, make sure all transformers read the same amount of resistance if not you have found a bad one. Now you will have to check to see if the power supply is sending 24v to the backlight, if not the power supply is bad. Cost backlights around 150.00 and power supplies around 100.00. Well this should help you friend.
i tell people all the time
if you get into the service menu and hit the wrong buttons
i wont know what you did to it
again if you post here to ask how to get into the service mode you dont have the desire to find the codes on the internet which are readily available as are service manuals
turn on the tv
push mute on the remote till mute goes out
hold down mute button and push menu on front of tv
hit menu again when the s comes up
hit 7 on remote and watch out
you just figured how to reconverge your tv
