Question about Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP 24" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Can I watch TV (Dish TV) on my Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP ?

I would like to be able to watch Dish TV programming(ViP 722) on my Dell Monitor in my home office. I already have a coaxial point in that room, do you know what cable I would need to watch TV on my monitor? My Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP does NOT have a HDMI but has DVI as well as component/composite. I have attached detailed information pertaining to the interfaces.

I will appreciate if you have any solution/advice/pointers that you may have, ,

thanks much,

HD

No. Monitors are different from TV's and are not able to connect directly to a Dish receiver. The frequencies the monitor uses are different that a TV. You can get video from a PC into a TV but not vice versa. You can use the second UHF output from the VIP 722 to connect an older TV without a digital tuner in it to that port. It will come out on channel 73 and will not be Hi def. You'll need to use the remote with the #2 on it to operate the receiver

SOURCE: Dell Ultrasharp 2407wfp Going dark?

I have seen this happen, and it gets to the point where the overheating will cause the backlight to entirely **** out, and then you've got a pretty nice paper weight. I would definately give Dell a call on this one to ensure it is under warranty. If this is the case they should easily be able to identify it as an issue with the backlight system and get you a replacement rather quickly.
If this part is not under warranty, well you can part-piece fix it, but it is a pain.

I have a Sony model KF-50WE610 tv. We moved it today and once it was set back up the picture is black and white. I have checked all connections, cables, and signal and nothing makes a difference. It is...

The cables connected are in the wrong spaces, either on the receiver or the television. Using component style cables, Green, Red, Blue for video, and White, Red for audio, one of the video cables is in the wrong spot. Using RCA type cables, Yellow for video, White, Red for audio, the Yellow is inserted into a green component somewhere. The ViP 722 is compatible with HDMI, which has a much higher resolution (1080p max with the ViP 722) and a better refresh rate (the ViP 722 max is 30Mhz), and as there is only one cable for both audio and video, is much easier to use, if your TV is compatible, you should look into using HDMI instead,

Hi there anil! My name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH, It is my pleasure to assist you. When watching an already recorded event and having a timer set up to record it should not interrupt your viewing of that DVR event. When this happened, did you get an error message on the screen? And has this happened again? Please reach me at: kimberly.escobar@dish.com with the details.

Why wont my vip 722 receiver from dishnetwork stay running

Hi ormsethkellymy name is Mike Houston of DISH Network and I was going over your post andwanted to check something's with your receiver. If you're watching a programand do not touch the remote and you see the receiver go off you can disable theInactivity Standby, you will want to push the buttons of MENU-8-8 and make sureit is disabled and you will be able to watch a program without the receiverturning off.

If you have a dish network system as listed in post a DVR 625 this is NOT possible, it will only work with VIP series Dish Network recivers. and they must be used on teh same model reciever such as Vip 722, tranfer to EXT HD then Watch on another 722!

Cajun is an idiot. a BACKLIGHT is a pencil sized tube that provides light for the LCD. An inverter will take a small voltage and turn it into a large voltage, with a proportional decrese in current. Not nearly the same thing.

Go to LCDrepairs.com and buy the parts you need.
