Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Does anyone know about these chips you can put it ps2's

There are many sites where you can read about and even buy the "mod chips" for these systems. Just Google "ps2 mod chip" and start following the links.

My PS doesn't acknowledge my Blood Omen or Soul Reaver games.

Check the text on the back of the game cases. My copy of The Da Vinci Code (UK version) says "This software is only compatible with the PlayStation(r)2 computer entertainment system displaying the [__PAL__] Logo", whereas my Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This At Home (US version, sent by a friend from Canada), has the legend "THIS SOFTWARE IS COMPATIBLE WITH PLAYSTATION 2 CONSOLES WITH THE NTSC U/C DESIGNATION."

also, check the codes on the left side of the disc, again, The Da Vinci Code has the game's internal ID code as "SLES-54031" and the [__PAL__] logo, whereas BAckyard Wrestling shows the [_NTSC_|_U/C_] logo, and the internal identifier SLUS 20638. The 4 letter code identifieds the country/region it was intended for sale and use in.

If this is the case, then your only option is to buy the games again, from a local retailer, to ensure the correct region, buy a foreign console, or, have your console chipped to play imports/copies. Be warned, however, that not all chips are perfect, and that you may end up damaging your console if you chip it yourself. I chipped my PS2 a while back, to play BY Wrestling, some 3 months later, the chip caught fire. It was a pretty display, but my ps2 ceased to function. permanently.

Swap disk

As far as I know, the only way to play backups is to "chip" the console. On the PS2 there is a switch located under the DVD tray that can be flipped to remove regional restrictions, allowing you to play import games, but it doesn't work with back ups.

Regional Restriction

Hi,
Hows it going?
you say you got them for your ps 3, so you must be relying on backwards compatibility to play your playstation 2 games from ireland on your playstation 3, so you must need a chip for your playstation 3 to allow pal european games to be played, sounds tricky and really crappy to be honest, stupididy on Sony's part, I can't understand why they do that. I hope you can get it sorted. A mod chip should do it. I'd recommend going into your local specialist game store(not HMV or Virgin, go to a shop that only does games) and asking the geekiest guy you see behind the counter, because thats the only way i'd find out. Google hasn't been helping me.

I suppose there would have to be a way.

I'm in Ireland myself and came across your post when searching for when they will be releasing the two games for PS3.

Best of Luck

My playstation modle is from japan can i play us games? modle #scph700000gt

If your playstation is chipped (modified) for playing fake (copy) games then only it is possible to play US games on japanese console suuppose if it is not chipped you can't play US games on it and you have to play only japanese games and that also originals.
