Question about Canon PIXMA iP4200 InkJet Photo Printer
Can you please help
The problem comes from a chip canon puts in each ink cartridge to tell the printer if you are using a authentic canon cart or if you are refilling you old cart's with new ink. This was a scam by canon to make sure you could only use their replacement cartridges and no other. (at $45 a pop)
Unfortunately, the chips seem to be defective quite often. I've got a magenta cartridge in my printer right now that says it's empty (it's not, it's new) or that it isn't installed properly (it is)
Look on Amazon and you will find others have had the same problem.
It is unacceptable for a company with the reputation of Canon to make a defective product and make no effort to fix it.
I am in the market for a new printer now and a new dslr camera but because of this experience, I will not buy another canon product.

The best solution for me is to get rid of the printer. If not South Africa, your assistant plans could maybe work for me. the problem is the exchange rate between SA Rand and $.
Thanks for the suggestion

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
