This is a common problem with THE CCD sensor, the sensor is faulty its the transducer which converts light into image behind the lens inside your camera it has to be replaced .

another common problems with a camcorder that has no picture on the camera is a stuck shutter or iris. you can turn on the camcorder tap on the lens around the middle sometimes it will open up. if this fails then you have failed capacitors in the camera section and most of the time the entire board need to be replaced. hope this helps

Hi

It wont be a CCD problem!! If you have an image in the viewfinder, the CCD is functioning fine. If not, first, give the lens a gentle tap(from the front) when the camera is recording. It may have a stuck iris or shutter, which is a mechanical part of the lens, the gentle tap may resolve this for you. . Short of that, if the settings on the camera are all set to record video and audio, it may well be a failure of an electronic nature. There is no real option here but to seek expert advice on the unit, best bet here is to go to a Canon agent near to you. Sorry, that is the best advice I can offer you.

robotek

Hi

CCD sensor is faulty ( this is the transducer which converts light into image behind the lens inside your camera ).

If u have warranty then claim it.

Turn off the camera and remove the battery and wait for five hours and then turn on, check it whether its working or not.

If its not work means u want to change the CCD.

Thank you

Make sure the Audio Recording Mode is turned off. Go to Camera settings and look for that option under Audio settings. To properly operate the video recording, the image below can help you.

    if nogo..

this indicates that there is a problem in the CCD
which is a quite common 1
then you won't be able to do this yourself, unless you're really handy
with these things, and can manage getting your hand on a replacement CCD

HI i have a canon ixus 700 it still take great pictures but when i try to use the flach on the camera it wil not take a picture please can you help

It's possible the camera is in one of the manual modes with the flash turned off. With the camera turned on and in the picture taking mode press the function button and look at the bottom of the screen. press the right or left side of the ring to highlite the auto setting then press the function button again.

My Canon IXY digital 30 has blank screen and doesn't show picture.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free worldwide, and may also include free shipping both ways (free shipping varies with countries). This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

Applicable cameras include: A60, A70, A75, A80, A85, A95, A300, A310, S1 IS, S60, S230, S400, S410, S500, SD100, SD110, IXUS V2/V3/300/400/430/500/II/IIs, IXY Digital 200a/300a/320/400/450/500/30/30a

Sound and picture jumping

This is probably because this camera records in HD format which will jump around when played on computers that are not very high performance. You need at least 2gb of RAM and a decent processor.

Otherwise, the codec is missing or old for playing the format.

Canon SD 700 IS Movie Sound Issue

This is because of low light and low frame rates in the camera. It records the sound on time but the picture delays. In the camera's video menu, choose a higher frame rate to help this a little. Honestly though, If you want to shoot better video get a video camera.

Battery getting exhanusted

Sounds like you need to call Canon. I use Energizer e2 batteries and take 700 pictures and several videos during a show I attend and still have battery life. Even with normal batteries you should be able to take several hundred pictures. Are you still under warranty?
