I need to connect to the internet

hi,

The capability to access the Internet is commonly referred to as GPRS, 1x/CDMA and/or 3G.

The settings for accessing the Internet (APN, username, password) vary from mobile operator to mobile operator. If your mobile phone is not currently configured for it (e.g for downloading games, ringtones, surfing the internet from your mobile browser...):

1. have your phone's manufacturer and model name ready
2. contact your mobile operator to request the Internet access settings
3. you should get the settings sent to your phone in an SMS message
4. save these settings as your default settings

In case you have all the information for the settings but you need/want to manually configure your phone, the instructions for doing it depend on the manufacturer and model name of your phone.

Phone manufacturers often help either in configuring your phone by sending you an SMS, or in publishing the instructions to be followed for manual configuration. Visit your mobile phone manufacturer's web site to see how they can help you:

If your phone is a Windows Mobile device, follow these steps to configure your device to access the Internet:

1. enter the Start menu
2. select Settings
3. open the Connection tab
4. select Connection
5. open the Advanced tab
6. select Select Network, then New
7. select Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
8. enter the data specific to your operator

Hope this guide help you.

Don't forget to rate me. Thanks...

Regards,
John

Presently i'm in Nigeria. there is a 3g network coverage here working properly, but it doesnt work on this phone. And i have tried all my best to set it, but to no avai.l I used this code *#1546792*# to...

Using the *#1546792*# menu, make sure to set the network order to WCDMA first, and network mode as WCDMA. This should force the phone to use 3G (although sometimes it doesn't always work due to certain cell towers not supporting it.)

When I try to connect to the internet it says connection failed what do I have to do?

I don't know what your carrier is, but you have to check on your phone it every setting on the 3G connection is according to the carrier. Give them a call and ask for them to help you set up internet access on your phone (give them the model name so they know how to help you)

Always sending failed

Does the phone has a signal bar? If it can make or receive a call?

*****If it is with good signal and can make a call. It is not the phone's problem.

2. Many cell phones can only work with GSM network. Please make sure that you are not using a 3G SIM card.
Click to check your SIM frequency: http://www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo or call your provider to confirm it.

*****After these actions, pls try the following instructions. It is only need to do some setting to get SMS.

**Turn on the phone, "setting"→"Restore factory settings" →enter the password:you'll find it on your user manual.
**Call your provider to get a SMS service center number for filling SMS setting. (you may get the number by searching it on the carrier's wesite)
NOTE: you might have to enter the number as +1(XXX)XXX-XXXX for gsm.
For instance, (+12063130004) should be +1(206)313-0004 (this is for T-mobile)

Does't connect to network - search Network

Hi
It sounds like you may have a poor 3G reception in your area. Even though other O2 phones are working better they may be running on the 2G masts in your area.
Try in setting/network menu turning off 3G reception, that way the device will only look for 2G masts. Your handset will give priority to 3G masts where available and sometimes will hold onto the weakest signal making poor call quality, and or dropping connection.
Advantages to using 2G only = better standby and talk time / better reception where 3G is poor.
Disadvantages = Slower web browsing / no video calls.

WEP / WPA will only apply if you are connecting using WI FI and have nothing to do with your mobile network connection.
Hope that helps?

CONNECTING TO THE INTERNET ON MY COMPUTER THROUGH MY I-MATE PDA2K

The i-mate pda2k is not a 3g phone! its only a 2g phone. But you can connect to the internet by using your wireless lan and GPRS.To connect to your computer, go to your phone settings menu then select "connect phone as modem",this will give you the option of connecting through GPRS or otherwise. You must have your settings set up properly to use this feature.
