I suggest downloading a new msn or lose MSN than go to start control panel add&remove programs ‘windows live essentials’(if using WLM 2009) ‘windows live messenger’(if using WLM 8.5) click on 'remove' and then on 'repair' wait til the wizard finishes sign in again Hope I helpedMSN expertDr Reed
I tried searching for answers on the net and found other people with
the same problem, but nobody seems to have an answer yet. I then went
to the Windows Live site and others are having login errors and such.
But it seems the error codes can vary. This is the advice they give
quoted directly from the official site:
To determine the exact error code you’re getting in Windows Live
Messenger, click the “Show details” option from the dialog box that
pops-up when the sign-in attempt to the service fails. Take note of the
error and specify it when you contact support through http://support.live.com
Hopefully that will help you. If it's not a sign-in error, try going to
the Windows Live site (link below) and looking around, or even putting
in a request for help. They may even have a live chat feature there.
haha it worked for me i fixed my problem. Try this it might work or might not. Go in to internet explorer and make sure work ofline is not ticked or make sure theres nothing wrong with your internet explorer. Try downloading the latest internet explorer. :D Hope this helps
After you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the square on top left next to the red X. Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on “ “Show Menus.” And then click on “Show the Menu Bar”. Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on Action. Go to “TOOLS” and click “Audio and Video Setting and follow the instructions.
Hi, This may be a little help, i used norton 360 with vista and had a few problems with msn, i have since removed norton for other reasons but in the settings or tools there is an exceptions page where you can choose the programs that nortons can ignore if you tell it to allow msn it will then work ok. I believe nortons sees msn as a threat because it has in and out communications therefor it shuts msn down. I hope this helps if not try avg8 it works very well with vista.
