may be it's only a DVD ROM drive not a combo,
you will need a combo to read both DVD and CD
if it was reading CDs earlier then the CDs might have scratch in them, try with new CD.
did u make changes to the cables inside, if you did check if the cabels are connected properly to the drive
If You can play Other Dvds Very Good.
Then Make Sure Your Dvd Have No Scratches.
If So Then Wash it with Water. And Clear it with smooth cloath.
If Still U Facing Problem Then You can Check It In Another Computer.
Try using a good quality dvd cleaner first. If that does not fix the problem then it is an optics issue for the dvd & it would be cheaper to replace the drive than to try & have it fixed. Hope this helps.
Dear Sir, Please post questions in detail to help us to serve you better. The answer which I'll be providing you is based on assumption on the little data you have provided. I think you need drivers for your CD ROM drive. If you are using windows XP then you don't need any driver becasue it is already there is XP but if you are using an older version, you can get the drivers from BENQ site. By the way are you still using CD ROM drives when DVD writers are available dirt cheap. Consider this as suggestion. Please rate me appropriately if you are satisfied with my answer,in case, if you want any clarification please get back to me.
