On the front there is a knob that needs to be loosened. The problem is if you just loosen the inner knob. You must also loosen the bigger, outer knob ...then it will slide.

There should be a release knob or switch on the rail (the part that slides) of the saw. There shouldn't be really any moving parts there , so if you see a little knob loosen it to see if it slides. Good Luck

Can't get my Ozito 210mm sliding compound saw to move to 45 degrees. Any ideas?

Try undoing any lock on the handle you move. Often the handle turns - clock wise to lock, anti clock wise to unlock. It is also possible the pivot bolt is tight.

I cannot get the miter adjustment to slide back to 0 for an upright blade setting

There's a set screw under the table for that. You'll have to tip the table over. Don't kill yourself.

My blade is not square to the table i,e if I make a 90deg cut, it is about 1/16 wider at the top of the board than it is at the bottom. I've lost my owners manual and was wowndereing holw I go about...

Set your saw square using a combination square if you have one. Then to to adjust the saw to stay square there should be a gold coloured nut that you can adjust on the right side below the lever you use to unlock the saw when setting what angles you want to cut. Either move it in or out to get the proper setting. Hopefully this answers your question.

My LS1013 saw kicks back toward the end of cut, it's worst with wide boards. How can I correct this? John L. Edmonds jledmonds@bellsouth.net

John, These sliding saws are a lot like radial arm saws except it is possible to pull the slide forward, then lower the saw and cut while pushing. Some people operate their saws like this, but it's dangerous unless you use both hold-down clamps and board has no warp. When operated in this manner, the blade is pushing the board up. If the board has any room to move, it can kick. This may be what you are experiencing. On the other hand, if you operate the saw like a radial arm saw, that is, by pushing the slide all of the way back, lowering the saw and then pulling the slide toward you to finish the cut - then the blade is pushing the board down, which is safer, especially if you don't use the hold-downs. However, if the saw is not correctly aligned such that the blade is not quite parallel to the slide, then the back of the blade will tend to lift up on the board on one side. You can test for this mis-alignment with a dial indicator. Just slide the saw forward or back as the indicator rubs along the surface of the blade. Since the saw is moving along the slide, the indicator should move very little if the blade is parallel to the slide. good luck, Al K

I have a 12 inch miter saw and cannot get it unlocked

There is a slide pin in the rear portion of the unit (near the elbow) that has to be pulled out. You may have to just shake the top portion (where the handle is) up and down a little to loosen it up and free it up.
