Do Not turn on the camera. Empty the cameras memory card, batteries etc. leave the battery case open. In a separate container fill it with rice (to kill any moisture the ants could leave on the micro components). Place the camera with the battery case open on top of the rice then leave enough room to place a saucer right next to the camera. Fill the saucer with SUGAR. Most ants are attracted to this form of sucralose. Close the container. After some time (until you think every possible ant is gone) if you see the ants eating the sugar get some pressurized air and retrieve the camera and spray the insides and out. I hope this wacky idea will work..........

If it does i would appreciate a well rating.

Try leaving the container there for a day. Prevent from opening or unscrewing the camera as it may be valuable to you. Then as a last resort send it to a repair shop and see what they think.

I am guessing the only solution would be to take the camera apart to get the ants out.  So, you would be best to take it to a repair shop and see what they think.

How to use nikon coolpix S630 as webcamera

You can't. It completely lacks that facility; it's a digital stills camera only with some limited video recording functions. It cannot relay a live video feed to ant=y external devices.

Red-eye problem for our baby, but not adults?

That's normal for all point and shoots when shooting babies. Either bring up the room lights, use the red-eye function with the flash, or use a photo editing program to remove the red-eye.

Taking a movie

Ignore the movie mode setting on the dial. I am sure it does something, but I have no idea what. To start taking a movie, press the silver button with a red center on the back, to the right of the eyepiece. To stop the movie, press that button again. It doesn't seem to matter what mode the dial on the top is in.

Now if I can only figure out why mine got the E18 error and stopped functioning...

if the red spot is always on the same place in each picture.... seems like a problem with the sensor ...

The sensor uses three channels to create colour... RED / GREEN / BLUE... one of the pixels for one of the sensors is gone
