Every thing is proper in the dvd player its just the common problem faced by many users of disk getting paused after some time .
its the problem of scratches on the disk so the device is not able to read the disk further and it says paused.a very rare chance of the disk to work is to clean the disk with isoprophyl and let it get completely dried and then try, but a very rare chance it would work.

the only option is to make another disk of same thing.

feel free for further queries.
thanks.

Hi,
Reasons may be,
1. If there are some minor scratches in that DVD , the player will get stuck while reading that part. Try writing that to another dvd.
2. The other reason can be that the pause over might be caused while recording itself. There are chances that your camera got stuck up while recording and after 6 secs it restores itself. It will naturally reflect while playing.

Hope my info helps you.
Thanx for using fixya.

Just now came to my mind.....

First, which camcorder are you using to record onto the (MC5, I'm
guessing you mean, not VC5) recorder?
Try taking out any of the chapter
settings from the menu, as well as anything else that may insert in the
middle of the DVD. I'm thinking it could be inserting chapters
incorrectly, or it could be reading the data from the camcorder wrong.
Are you sure that the camcorder format that you're recording in is
compatible with the MC5 (I know a couple of them are not namely
    supported)?

you may be using a camcorder which isn't compatible with the VC5 system. It
may also be the brand/type of dvd discs being used as well. Make sure
you're using the ones recommended by the manufacturer to be certain
they're working properly. You can also head over to videohelp.com to
see what success others have had with disc combinations.

    Hope my info helps you,
    Sorry i am late,
    Thanx for using fixya,
    Good luck.

Hi, Does other DVDs recorded from the recorder play properly?
Also check playing this DVD in your computer. If the problem persists, the DVD might have been burnt defectively by the recorder. You can copy/ rip the video to your computer. Try to edit and burn again in another DVD to use with the player.
Hope it works...
cheers,

How can i buy all the cables to the sony vrd-mc6

Yeah most common problem that consumers encounter. Recently I adquire one for my production company. yeah, I search around and the best site was amazon.com. Depending in your camera model you would have to chec if is rca videos plugs type or Dv to Dv, USB, or IILink, in my case from my Sony camera to the Sony recorder I use the Dv to Dv. Just chec your specifications to make sure.
Amazon.com has one of the most wide variety in cables that I have found in the internet one place and affordable.

Motorola VIP1216 DVR and Sony VRD-MC5 Connections for Recording?

I have the same problem currently. I have successfully recorded to the Sony CM5 in the past from my DVR, but no longer can. I have Comcast and wonder if they have changed the DVR firmware and blocked output. Also some broadcasts have something in the signal to stop recording. I got half of my program done, and can't record the rest on DVD. I will try to DVR local news, then record to the Sony, to see if it's a signal issue or something with the Sony. I haven't tried to record from a VCR.

"Invalid Video Found" HDR-CX7 and VRD-MC5 DVD Recorder

The same happend to me. The camera contains informations of videofiles, which are no more present on the camera (were deleted from a computer). You are not able to record in full disk mode, or any other mode, which includes these videos. These missing files can be easily recognised, as the camcorder is not able to play them. Try to get rid of these "files", or ommit them from the recording list.

Both pics and movie to one disk

first, import your camera photos and video to computer
second, use a dvd slideshow software to combine videos and photos to slideshow and burn to dvd
finally play your camera photos and video on TV. You will experience more with good DVD authoring software.
