Question about Akai PT5492S 54" Rear Projection Television

Akai PT5492S 54 Projection TV

I have attached TV only to Dvd player. It was working properly. Today when i started sound was there but no picture then i statrted changing with remote, Now no sound no picture. I feel it changed to ANT from video. Or may be something else. please help. thanks

Timer light is on but can not shut it off to get channels or menu and also turn it on flsanlee@aol.com

Akai projection tv has static in it but it goes in and out with the static sound and picture


If it does not do it via the rear audio and video jacks (a DVD etc) problem may be a bad tuner or even a bad connection on the cable wire or fitting at rear of set--move the cables at connection points with set on to see if a reaction.

If not from DVD etc there is a way around this issue.

Sound works no picture


t.v sounds comes on picture not working can watch pip . sometimes when you turn the t.v the timer light in front flashes can u help

That unit has a couple of various problems that are common. The first, I would check the 2d comb filter for ring cracks. If you see any resoldering them should restore the picture,

"NO Picture" 54" AKAI model PT5492S


I just had that problem. Check the terminal board that is on the left if you open the back of the TV. There is a thing in there with the number aa93-something. If you check under that board there should be some solders that have come loose. I just fixed this problem last night!!

make sure it's not muted. you can also change from lift to right speakers. you may have burned up the audio driver amp.
