Kornho, thanks for your help. My printer was working just fine. All of a sudden it was dead. The cable is new, it fits fine, no looseness. I just got this printer (new) about 7 months ago. It just seems to be dead. No lights. I guess I had better get another printer!!
    Thank you very much.

Did it ever work for you?
what about the cable? is that a new power cable? make sure the power cable is not loose and wigly inside the plug that goes to the printer, if the outlet is working and the printer does not have a burnt component inside and the power cable is the right one for your printer, you should at least see lights, recheck those 3 things.
it may be time to simply replaced the printer

if it's 7 months old.. you may still the have the manufacturer's warranty... find if possible the receipt showing your purchase and they may send another one if you bring this to the manufacturer's attention...I't doesn't sound right that it's not even coming on!

My HP a1630n was working fine a few days ago & now it does not even turn on - no fan - no motor, nothing. I tried a different power supply & still nothing. Any clues/suggestions??

Hello,

Try taking out your battery, and then use your power adapter! I just went through this myself.

Your battery may be drained? If your power adapter doesn't work, than you can purchase a universal one, or use the the other you tried. But your battery needs to be out to test this.

My battery was okay, but power adapter was bad...they go bad out of blue for no reason at all! It's fine to use a different power adapter.

Kind regards!

Nothing on my Emachines computer will turn on.

I would recommend rechecking your connection to the motherboard. All wires from the power supply to board and making sure the front panel switch connection are correct. Also, make sure the power supply is compatible to the motherboare. even though a 20-Pin ps will connect to a 24-Pin board, it still does not work. Good Luck

Dell Inspiron 530 I turns on and nothing happens

1.) If when hitting the power button, ABSOLUTELY nothing happens, no fans come on, nothing- You need a new power supply most likely. I see this all the time in my shop. Here's the bad news- Dell likes to use their own special power supplies, so a normal one may not even fit in the case. If that is the case, then I'm sorry to say Dell likes to charge over $100 easily for a new one.

2.) Fans come on, lights come on, but no screen. This can mean any number of things. Bad VGA cable (or DVI), bad RAM, bad mobo, even a bad PCI card. time to start troubleshooting. Change what parts you can, remove any PCI cards that are not needed, remove one RAM card then the other, etc....

Gateway laptop won't turn on even after being charged or while plugged in.

Is any of the indicators glowing when you plugged in the laptop? If yes then try removing the battery and connect the laptop to the adaptor, and try to start it. If nothing changes or if no LED is glowing then make sure that the adaptor is okay. If you are sure that the adaptor is okay then you have a motherboard related issue

Printer does not turn on - checked plugs etc - all OK It could be a problem caused by new cartridge being installed.

This just worked for me. Printer would not turn on, no lights, nothing.

Took cartridge's out, unplugged from computer and wall outlet. Waited 5 min. Plugged into wall plug first, printer turned on, plugged into computer and reinstalled the ink cartridge's and pc found new hardware ( printer ) and all was working after that.

Unplugging from wall socket and pc, was what I needed to reset it.

Help needed fairly urgent

Make sure everything in side your computer is in all of the way. Push down on all of the cards and the memory to make sure nothing came loose. Make sure all of the cables are securely fastened and give it another go to see if it powers up.
