My external Hard Drive Doesn't work.

If you computer is locking up and or running slow this is a sign that there is a problem with the drive. The computer is trying to access the drive but having trouble doing this. I used to have one of these and had trouble with it from time to time. I would recommend that you try running check disk on the drive to see if this makes a difference.

If you still have trouble try the drive on another computer. Note you may have to assign a drive letter to it. The links below will help you do this.

How to change your drive letter in Windows XP

If you are out of warrranty I would pull the drive out of the encloser to seee if you still have trouble because in most cases when external drives fail the problem is with the USB controller and not the drive its self.

Let me know if you have any more problems or questions

If you are having trouble with your hard drive being detected this is a sign that there could be corrupted data on the hard drive or actually something wrong with the hard drive. The link will take you formating the if needed. If you still have trouble then the problem is with the hard drive its self.

My computer worked properly. but at once my IDE devices started giving troubles. my 2 IDE devices are not detected at the start up.

The BIOS will have trouble detecting faulty IDE devices, eg the hard disk etc.
To check if the IDE devices are faulty, connect the hard disk to an USB hard disk adapter and plug it into a working computer's USB port, if the computer detects it as an external hard drive and you can open the folders and files then the hard drive is OK and the fault is the disk controller. If the hard disk is not detected then it is faulty and a new hard disk is needed, Windows installed on the new hard drive together with the device drivers and your programs to get an fully functioning computer again.

New hard drive has trouble downloading songs & won't play

hi there, open iriver again and take new drive out (reinstall hard drive, just an adjustment process). close it up and try to download / play a file.
now if this process dont work, save iriver software to pc and format the hard drive (this will erase the hard drive songs and all)..now reinstall the software from the pc...download your songs back to iriver and you should have a brand new Iriver ihp-140............if heplful feel free to rate

Trouble with my canon copier ir 2870

E000602-0113 means that the hard drive is having problems booting up. You may try to remove the boot chip and clean the contacts with rubbing alcahol and reinstall it and turn the copier back on. Most likely you will need to replace the hard drive or try to re-flash the hard drive.
