You don't have to just replace the laser that is more complicating... you can just replace the entire drive on the orginal xboxes as long as it came out of another xbox...

The laser is starting to go bad on ya, either try the "pot tweak trick" (google it) or replace the drive or the laser head assembly, im going to guess thats the problem. if the cd works on another console then it means your laser is having a hard time reading it. and it has a limit on read errors before the console halts, refuses to load the game and jumps back to the dashboard..

Disk unreadable for Madden 10 everything i go online to play in the middle of the game it will come up and the game is brand new no scratches

if the xbox can read other games perfectly fine i would say that it might be a defect with you copy of the game. if other games have the same problem it means that the lens on your xbox is dirty or scratched. if dirty you could use a lens cleaner, but if its scratched you would need a new DVD drive put into the xbox which would have to be done through microsoft

Xbox not recognizing disc

please consult to xbox technician.there is nothing you can do because your laser or lens which read your disc probably either dirty or damages...if it is dirty, i suggest you to buy disc that has a tiny brush attach onto that disc...but if it damages,well............nothing u can do other than send it for service...

I have had my Xbox 360 console since christmas 2008. To date i have had 3 games damaged whilst running in the console. The games simply freeze. When i eject the discs, they have a perfect circular scratch...

Thats when the lens scratches the disc, tends to happen if xbox is moved while disc is running, it happened to me.

Try putting the xbox lying down or standing up to see if the problem changes.

EA sports nhl/o9 says disc is dirty game is brand new /second one

when this happens you will need to buy a cleaning disk from staples. when you have the disk, insert it in the x-box. when you've done that play track number two. this process will adjust the eye so that the brushes on the disk will wipe the dirt or ather stuff from thy eye.

Xbox 360 unplayable disks

What you have to do, is clean the "eye" the thing under the disk tray that reads the game, you probabley got that dirty or damaged somehow. Try spraying compressed air into the open disk tray to get any quick dust off. if that does not work then try finding other ways to clean it or call 1-800-4my-xbox and have microsoft check out the system to see whats wrong with it
