Question about Emerson Smartset Clock Radio
For some reason my time projector only works part time. It worked fine for a few months but now is only on at random times. Is this a faulty unit? or is there a way to fix this?
The reason these projection displays have problems is usually caused by over expanded solder joints. This is caused by heating in the circuit, through prolonged use. This causes the metal in the solder joints to expand. This expansion will eventually cause the joint to loosen. The join because of the combination of expansion and vibration eventually loses contact with the circuit board connection. The problem is usually easily repaired by resoldering the cold solder joints. This type of problem occurs in all types of electronic devices. When this type of repair does not fix the problem, it is because during the process of becoming faulty it has taken it toll on other circuitry in the circuits of the leds. This is usually the power supply circuit for the leds. This will require the replacing the defective components, like transistors and ic's. This is usually best handled in the service centers. They will have all the service information and parts for the repairs. The customer support telephone number for Emerson is 1-800-898-9020 you can call them between the hours of 9am-5pm CT. Give them the make and model number of you Clock/Radio and ask them for assistance.I hope this information has help you understand the reason for the problem with your Clock/Radio. Thank you for using FixYa and have a nice day.

Tips for a great answer:
Jan 01, 2015 | Audio Players & Recorders
Switch button on bottom of clock from 24 to 12. Military
time uses a 24 hour clock which means 1:00 PM becomes 1300. This doesn't answer "AM" as there is no am or pm for military time.
