Try to defragment your hard drive, if the disk is fragmented after doing first analysis... your access time should improve.
if the hard drive is almost full and old you may want to do some back up to removalble media and then put your files in larger hard drive... room in the hdd should also improve performance.
do you have compression on the hard drive?.. compression and decomprension when you access a file may slow down the response time a little. disable compression and test.

My desktop is getting stuck so many times. It shows bluescreen and physical memory dump even when i tried to install new copy of windows. the error is technical error stop : 0X0000007A(0XCO7B9FB8,...

It can be a few things but usually the atapi.sys file is corrupt. If you can boot into your desktop, open the "run" box and type in "cmd". In that box type: sfc /scannow and press enter. There is a space between sfc and /scannow. You will be asked to put your Windows CD in the CD drive.
When did this problem begin? Have you installed a new harddrive recently? Have you installed new memory recently? Remove and re-insert the hardrive cables. Remove and re-insert the memory. Be careful about electro-static discharge. Sometimes just doing that will fix a bad connection.
Sometimes this error is caused by bad memory. You can download Memtest86 here: http://www.memtest.org/ Grab the prebuilt ISO.zip After downloading the file right click it and select "extract all" Use Img Burn http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write the ISO to a CD. Keep the CD in the drive and reboot.
Also, there could be a problem with the hardrive. if you know the harddrive manufacturer you can usually go to their website and download their hardrive diagnostic software.
Sometimes erasing the hardrive (absolute last resort) will solve these kind of errors. Just be aware that you will lose ALL of your data and it mat not solve the problem. Darik's Boot and Nuke works good for that: http://www.dban.org/

Htldr missing and beeping

Hi,

CAUSE:

This problem may occur if the MFT root folder is severely fragmented. If the MFT root folder contains many files, the MFT may become so fragmented that an additional allocation index is created. Because files are mapped alphabetically in the allocation indexes, the NTLDR file may be pushed to the second allocation index. When this occurs, you receive the error message that is described in the "Symptoms" section.

Typically, files are not written to the root folder. This condition may occur if a program regularly creates and removes temporary files in the root folder, or if many files are copied to the root folder by mistake.

SOLUTION:

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Contact Microsoft Customer Support Services to obtain the Bcupdate2.exe utility. For more information about how to contact Microsoft Customer Support Services, visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support (http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support)
  2. Insert the Windows XP cd and boot from the Windows XP cd, Press R option to repair and you get command prompt
  3. Run the following command at the command prompt to extract the Bcupdate2.exe utility from the software update:
    Expand drive_letter:\bcupdate2.ex_ drive_letter:\bcupdate2.exe
  4. Run the following command at the command prompt to update the boot code of the NTFS boot sector:
    Bcupdate2.exe C: /F

Note Other command-line parameters are supported: /q - Quiet mode (must include /y)
    /y - Don't confirm
/f - Force update of in use volume
/t - Only test for old boot code
  5. Press Y if you are prompted to update the volume. You receive the following message after you successfully run this utility: The boot code was updated successfully
If you are novoice user and if you feel these step as difficult, simply reinstall the windows

you need to delete the songs, videos and pictures those are the type of files that make space. but before you do that makesure they're backed elsewhere if you need them.

I have uploaded mp3 music files onto my creative zen v, but on the player no information of artist is shown, just lots of track 1's, 2's 3's ,etc. When i check my media files, the folders are all there with...

the zen only keeps what info is needed to allocate the space in an mp3 player the tracks are numbered so you can add more
names take up alot of allocated spaces

also with a zen back up your files and do an update for mp3 player remember its a storage device with a micro chip they still need software to run properly

My mp-c848/256 mb coby player says there is no music on it.

Hi,
One song Too Many, The straw That broke the camels Back :)
You really have to take note, to the Amount of songs that can be Stored On These MP3/4 players.
If the players rating has for instance 20 Songs MP3 Maximum, it,s not going to like 21. Or more.
What happens with these devices, is that they Ocassionally ( Model-Make Depending ) Have a Shared System Memory, which is allocated. There May be 1 Folder, allocated to accept 20 Songs. So if you put the extra 1 Song on, it starts to write the song to The MP Player, but has,nt enough space.
This can cause the ( final straw ) or 1 too many songs to be overwritten to another location. ( X-Box hard-drives are Similar )
1 Drive Partitioned to several allocations. So if you overwrite 1 ( too much data ) it overspills into another section or Partion.
If this happens and it,s overwritten your Boot-sector or Operating System. Then Your player May Be Donald-Ducked.
Your options to recover your player Are Thus:-
1:) Check to see if there any files in the Music Folder, also look at other designated folders, to see exactly where the Overspilled data Has Gone.
2:) Try deleting 1 Or 2 insignificant Files, Not System or Startup Files.
3:) If the Player is recognised as a device F:/G:/H:/I:/ in the My Computer Section Of your PC. Right Click And Re-format. ***Important Back up Or save All files folders First***
4:) Try and obtain A Flash update Or re-flash the Firmware, if your Player supports This.
5:) Keep it as a pretty reminder of what you did Wrong, With This One, And buy another hoping you,ve learned by your mistakes. And you,ll never put the extra 1 Song on again, without deleting 2 songs before-Hand.

This Information Has been provided To you completely Free Of charge by mike @ compurepair.

Thankyou for Using FIXYA :)

when you hook it up to the puter, go into My computer right click on the removable drive then click on explore disc and see what oter types of files are taking up the extra memory as if there are none then the drive has bad memory cells.
