Question about Apple iPod touch

1 Answer

What component needed

Hi! I have an apple ipod touch. I just purchased a usb cable (i think i may have purchased the wrong one). It's a USB cable for 'ipod' is what i got. Anyways, i connected it to my ipod touch to the computer, hoping that i may manage it (songs, pics, etc.) and the computer read, "new device found..." for an apple ipod 'camera'! I'm confused. I don't know alot about this. I need to reprogram everything on it. Please help me. You may contact me at queenjean77@hotmail.com. Thank you! I appreciate it.

I have an ipod model a1199. i was wondering if you can use a newer ipod touch charger for it? and if not what kind of charger does it use?

Charge an iPod Nano Without a Charger
If you've misplaced or broken the charger that came with your iPod Nano, you might think you need to purchase a new one in order to continue using your Mp3 player.
However, there is a way that you can continue enjoying your iPod without having to purchase a new charger.
As long as you have a USB cord and a computer, you can charge your iPod without having the charger.

Locate the USB cord that came with your iPod Nano package.
It is the same cord that you use in order to sync or transfer music.
Plug the small end into your iPod Nano.

Plug the other, larger end into your computer's USB port.
Choose "Do Nothing" when your computer presents the dialogue box to let you choose what to do with the hardware or USB connection.
Leave your Nano plugged into your computer for at least 4 hours to charge.
Unplug your iPod Nano when charging is complete.
Charge an iPod Without the Charger
Many iPod owners purchase a charging unit that plugs into a standard wall outlet to recharge the iPod's battery.
However, the iPod wall charger is not included with new purchases, so consumers must either purchase a separate charger or find a way to charge their iPod using other means.
Here's a simple method to charge your iPod using your computer.

Plug the iPod USB cable into the bottom of your iPod.
Plug the other end of the iPod USB cable into a free USB port on your Mac or PC computer.

Open the iTunes program by clicking on the icon in the Dock on a Mac or using the Start menu on a PC.
Click on the name of your iPod under the "Devices" heading in the main iTunes window.
Click on the "Sync" button to synchronize your iPod with your computer data.
While the iPod is syncing, the power from the USB port on your computer will charge your iPod's battery.

Unplug your iPod from the computer once the battery is fully charged.

This one should be ok.

Need to purchase a charger for the ipod a112, the original is lost

Hi, You don't need a charger, it will charge via USB if you have the original USB connection cable for it. Suggest if you do not have that cable, that you get one off of eBay, that will cost less (most likely) than buying one from Apple.
Here is the link to the correct cable at the Apple Store: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA591G/B?fnode=MTY1NDA0OQ&mco=MTM3NDk2ODg
If you have the cable, just plug it into any USB port on your computer and it will charge your iPod. If you actually want the plug into the wall that will provide USB power, then here is Apple's product link, though any USB charger will work:

How can you accses your touch fron computer

Hi. Download ITUNES from the Apple website, install, and then launch the application. After this is done, plug the USB cable supplied with your IPod into the computers USB port and of course to your IPod. Your IPod should appear in the left-hand pane of the Itunes console. You should then be able to access your Ipod and transfer filles to it, Hope this helps and good luck.

When I Connect My Ipod Touch 8gb To My Computer It Wont Turn On And I Didnt Charge It For Like A Month What Should I Do Please Help Me!!!

You are right, it doesn't have enough power to turn on because the battery was drained. You're saying that it wont charge? It could only be the USB cable problem. Try to use a different iPod USB cable and check if it charges the iPod. Another thing is try to charge the iPod using the stand alone USB charger. Your iPod requires high power input. If that doesn't work, you may start to think that it is a battery failure.

How to conect ipod to the pc

The iPod comes with a cable with a wide-connector at the end that connects to the iPod, and a standard USB-connector at the other end, that connects into any USB port on your computer.

Download: http://www.Apple.com/iTunes the free iTunes software, install it, and use it to copy music from your computer to the iPod, and to purchase music from the iTunes Online Store.

Hi,

Click "Start"
Click "My computer"
Switch to the classic view (if you're using Windows XP.)
Click "Folder Options"
Click the tab called "View"
Check "Show hidden files or folders"
If you also wish to view system files, Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"
Plug in your iPod.
Wait for it to load completely.
Open My Computer (or computer if on Vista). Make sure you can view hidden files.
Go to iPod_control.
Go to the folder named Device.
If your iPod is locked, there will be a file _locked . Rename the file to _unlocked.
Safely remove your iPod and it will be cleared.

My iPod touch isn't able to charge and doesn't show up in my computer and iTunes, what could be the problem I talked to the people at apple, but they said that nothing is wrong with the USB cable?

It probably needs a reset.

The apple support page is here>

There are trouble shooting instructions on the page.
