if you don't have the cd it will be difficult cause that would fix your issue really quick. can you boot into safemode w networking if so try and fix what you need through there.

I have boot mgr is missing could you help and tell me what i can do to get my pc working again thanks steve

Hello, there are a number of possible causes for "BOOTMGR is missing" error message. The most common reasons for BOOTMGR errors include corrupt and misconfigured files, hard drive and operating system upgrade issues, corrupt hard drives, an outdated BIOS, and damaged or loose cables.First we are going to try the start up repair. You will need your windows installation disk or recovery disk.Put it on your cd rom, restart and watch for a Press any key to boot from CD or DVD...Press a key to force the computer to boot from dvd.Once it finished loading files Choose the Language to install, Time and currency format, and Keyboard or input method that you'd like to use in Windows Vista.Click on the Repair your computer link on the bottom-left of the Install Windows window. This link will begin the Windows Vista System Recovery Options.Wait a minute to search for your hard drives.
Choose the Windows Vista installation that you'd like to perform the Startup Repair on.
Click the Next button.
The Startup Repair tool will now search for problems with important Windows Vista files and try to repair them.Your computer may or may not restart several times during this repair process. Do not boot from the Windows Vista DVD on any restart
Click the Finish button once you see the Restart your computer to complete the repairs window to restart your PC and start Windows Vista normally.
Now your done and is supposed to work normally.Let me know if is fixed.Good luck

The f9 did no work. so i can't get the menu to

I don't think F9 works on XP HD versions, only on linux SD versions. Use the Recovery DVD.

Problem regarding booting the laptop

first, check if the hard drive is detected on bios. if it's not then try reseating it. restart computer and enter advanced boot options (by pressing f8 upon restarting). select last known good configuration then press enter, if it still doesnt load windows, restart system and enter advanced boot options again and select safe mode. if it still doesnt boot then you need to reinstall windows.
you will need to get an external cd/dvd rom in order to reinstall windows.
you can try copying the windows disc content onto a flash drive and boot from it but that method is not guaranteed.

My eeepc says NTLDR is missing and I have tried to replace the software using an external drive but it wont start

If you get the "NTLDR is Missing" error, follow these instructions:

1. Load Windows XP CD into CD drive.
2. Make sure BIOS is set to boot to CD drive.
3. Boot the computer from CD.
4. At menu, press "R" to load Recovery Console.
5. Select the installation to be fixed.
*The following instructions assume CD-ROM is labeled as drive D and the hard drive partition the windows installation is on is labeled as drive C. Replace the letters accordingly.
6. Type "COPY D:\i386\ntldr C:\" and press ENTER.
7. Type "COPY D:\i386\ntdetect.com C:\" and press ENTER.
8. Remove CD and type "EXIT" and press ENTER (to reboot your computer).

Lost log-in password

what is password? for windows? for BIOS? for what?....
you use eeePC with Linux OS or Microsoft Windows OS? For Linux, follow my instruction for recovery your OS. Press F9, after you turn ON your netbook. And follow that instruction. Or you can use recovery DVD (include your netbook), after you plug in external DVD-ROM and make it boot priority for first is DVD-ROM (enter your BIOS first).

When i turn on eeepc it start blinking

reinstall the operating system--press F9 while you are booting up,it will accept this F9 boot every other reboot--choose disk scan to clear corrupted filesystem--or choose re-install OS--then press "E" then press "B" then follow through the first few configuration pages.
Also FN/F1 sets the screen to sleep, then FN/F5 switches between screen and external monitor facility, you might have corrupted these settings
