I have the same exact problem. I tested all electrolytic caps in the power supply and all were good. I changed out the ballast and still had the problem. I need the schematic that shows the power supply for this model. I don't see anywhere to send a private message to Gopakumar Gopalan who has it. How can I contact Gopakumar Gopalan to give him my email address?

SOURCE: odd sound from Samsung DLP TV

Buzzing could be related to the lamp/ballast connection. Try removing and reinserting the lamp look for arching marks on the contacts that would suggest that the connection wasnt good.

SOURCE: Samsung 50" DLP tv goes on, freezes, goes black,

Hello
Unplug your TV from Ac mains socket and wit for some time, say 15 minutes or so. unscrew the lamp case, take it out, and reset it as it was, and tighten the screws. If lamp is not well tightened this type of fault will occur in DLP TVs. Also, if lamp life has out too. Check this first. If the problem perists after doing these, the internal circutary, especially to the power regulator side has some trouble with it and should be checked well. If you have a sound knoledge in digital electroncis, and the working of DLP tv [as DLP chip is very costly] only attempt to do it by yoursef at home. If not don't go further. Anyway inform me after doing these first. OK.

Samsung BP96-01653A Model HL50A650C1F I believe that the lamp went out on my Samsung 50 in DLP TV about a week ago. The TV would not turn on and the green lamp light blinks. I ordered a new lamp, fr

This sounds like a case where jumping to a incorrect conclusion has not resulted in the fix your were after. The problem could also be related to the power supply. Before going for another part it is best to consult a Technician who works on these all the time and get a correct direction to go before ordering a lot more parts. if you check on the internet with the symptom and model /brand of your unit- chances are someone else has already had this problem and may have the solution there for you to take advantage of. Of course each TV is different but it might be a better way to proceed than just guessing.
