Question about Bose LifeStyle 5 Series-III CD Shelf System
You say that you have schematics for this. Is there anyway for you too scan or upload these for all to use. My display is dead too (everythig else is OK) and would like to fix but I have nothing to go off of. Any help would be fantastic as I would like to get a few more years out of this system.
Hi the fix for a dead display is a faulty capacitor. Depending upon which board version you have, you need to replace the 33 uF / 63 volt capaitor. On some units this is C19 on the display board, on other units this capacitor is mounted on the main board and re-numbered, there is only one 33 uF on the unit so you should be able to find it.

Some of the uf33 capacitors are 50v. Mine was 50 so bought one and it fixed it.
Not sure if the 63v would work also but didn't want to risk more volts.
It was on the upper board directly under the display marked c19 location..

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
