No picture isnt really something that those ic's can cause so I think we have a wire hooked up wrong, or unpluged. If you send me pictures of the boards inside to my email i will look them over for you.

RCA 52in. Projection TV D52W19B does anyone

Hello butmommy03,

This is the procedure but first I must warn you. You are dealing with one of the most dangerous parts of a TV The High Voltage anode or the CRT and the flyback transformer. That being said this is what you have to do:

1) unplug the TV from the wall or power strip.

2) take the back of the TV, and find the High voltage trippler and using a screwdriver grounded by a clip-lead to the grounding strip touch it to the exposed metal of the input to the High Voltage trippler.

3) using a soldering iron de-solder and remove the wire from the HV trippler.

4) Once this is done, angle the chassis to expose the bottom of the Deflection board, if this is no possible you will have to remove the deflection board to get a look at the bottom, once this is done and you can view the bottom of the board using a soldering iron and a de-soldering pump you can remove the solder from around the pins of the flyback transformer about 10 pins in all. Then remove the screws that hold the flyback in place. this is the procedure you requested,

However again I must ask you not to do this yourself and to get a qualified TV technician to troubleshoot this TV for you.

Thank you,

My 55" Phillips Rear Projection tv has perfect sound but no picture at all.

Hello sdbeynon,

This usually denotes a problem in the high voltage section either trippler or the IHVT. Since this section of the Tv has hazardous voltages I would suggest that you get a TV repair technician to give you an estimate on the cost of repair.

Judging by what you described it sounds like the trippler may have a problem. Have the technician check that first, or if you have a high voltage probe here is the procedure:

1) Remove the rear of the Tv set

2) clip the ground lead of the HV probe to ground.

3) using the tip of the probe touch the input of the trippler block you should have a voltage of 20Kv - 30Kv

4) touch the individual outputs of the trippler block they should each read 20Kv to 30Kv.

If the input is not present the IHVT or the trippler is bad, however if the 20Kv to 30Kv is present on the input but not the output the trippler itself is the problem.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

High voltage Trippler is bad or shorted tube or need to replace FET ,startup Kit it has 16pin ic/ 4capacitors /resistors /everything you need to repair that circuit. So your tv is 15yrs old cost of replacing tubes 300.00 per tube.plus labor 190.00 and up ?

Swithced ic chips

Those wires are ground wires they don't matter where you hook them up....there is a wire that comes off the trippler (the pice that hangs off the metal that holds the tubes and has the 4 big red wires plugged into it) and plugs into the deflection board is that plugged in?

Power on

Hello altoboy,

This sounds like either a problem with the IHVT and or the Horizontal Output Transistor. Open the set and check to see if the sound is coming from a big black partially circular component with at least two wires coming from it and also check the box to which one of the wires is going to and three wires are coming out. This is your High Voltage trippler. Now if you do not have a background in Electronics, I would suggest that you take this to a qualified TV repair shop to have it worked on.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Can a d board on a sony kp53hs30 be replaced at home? If so how is it done?

yes just label any wires you disconnect then remove the screws holding the circuit board in (six screws) then remove the board very easy the hardest is getting the HV cable out of the splitter but it will come out with pliers twisting it 90 degrees put tape on the plkiers so you dont hurt the HV cable ( Large red wire)
