No picture fan running - Panasonic PT-51G35 51" Rear Projection Television

  • Anonymous Oct 06, 2011

It actually is a chirping sound maybe not a fan sound. Could that sound be telling me something? On the panasonic website how do I know which diode to try?

It actually is a chirping sound. Could this be an indicator sound of some soty not a fan sound? Also which diode on panasonic website? there are tons. thanks you so much!

  • Mike Meder Oct 07, 2011

this is part# ma4033m . the sound you hear is the power supply not being able to start. Switching mode power supplies wil do this when there is a load above a threshold in secondary power line i.e. 3.3v. you can check with a digital multimeter for th voltage off diode's
cathode. if not present look for capacitor on that line or open fusible resistor. Good success, Meder's Tv

Nordyne AC unit works at first but later provided cool air. Thermostat set to 65. Power running to unit outside. Noticed ice around line outside and can send a picture. Chipped ice away. Want to know what...

If the inside fan motor is running OK you are low on refrigerant. If the inside fan motor is not running, repair the inside fan motor. Could also possibly be dirty inside coils.

1994 9000C Runs hot

Could be the fan thermoswitch. The thermoswitch, if there is one*, is located on the lower portion of the radiator just in front of the turbo outlet pipe. Here is a picture.
You may also have one of the fan relays failing. (On some cars, there were two relays, one for low speed and one for high). Here is a picture.
For general diagnostics of the cooling system, go here.
2 stage cooling fan wiring diagram here.
This also will tell you where to find other components to check, like the fan speed resistor, and provide other diagnostic checks.

I have a teac plh4220sd and is about 18 months old. recently the picture quality started to degrade and yesterday completle lost picture but still have sound, is there anything that can be done

Hi I have the same problem and fixed it by running a fan behind the TV I think the Plasma screen runs to hot.
The fan completely fixed the screen if you feel the top of the TV you can see how hot it gets running a fan behind the set keeps it cool.

My picture is really snowy

Capasitors on the power suply are failing or they have a cold solder joint. Take the back cover off and run a fan on the power suply to see if this problem stops. If it does the run smaller fans to track down the bad capasitor. There durt cheap to replace!
