Medal of honor allied assault

Hiya hope ya can help, i just got a new graphics card, nvidia geforce 9500 gt......1gb,,ddr2....hdcp...pci-e, my old 1 was intergrated, i've loaded the drivers, the 1's on the disc that came with and also tried latest version and the beta even tried other 9 series drivers. No matter which driver i use medal of honor won't load, it shows the console screen, that tells ya what its doing, the writing on it flashes up. It then goes to a grey screen (which it does when it loads normally) then it kicks me straight back to the desk top with no explanation as to why it failed, its just my normal desktop with nothing to do with mohaa on it. I'm running windows xp 2005 media edition sp3. i've tried changing the settings in the display options tried in the nvidia control centre, i've tried re-installing the game, i've tried re installing the card drivers, i've tried re-installing directx9, i've checked on nvidia that the card is compatible with opengl.......now i'm stuck don't know what else to do. please help

Nvidia 9500GT driver stopped responding?

If 40C is your system temp at idle you may want to add an intake or exhaust fan on your case. You want to have the same amount of exhaust flow as intake especially if you are adding a graphics card. I also find it odd that you vid card did not come with a fan. 74C still should not be high enough to cut your card off either. It sounds like you have a defective unit.

Hi lokarpit,

I've got good news for you! Your Presario's motherboard only supports Supports PCI Express x16 graphics cards, and your GeForce 8600 GT is a PCI Express x16 graphics card.

However, I'm a bit concerned about the graphics card being 1gb? Both Nvidia's 8600GT and 8600GTS came out with only 256mb GDDR3 memory on them. Are you sure you have the right card?

But, if you have one with 1gb, the motherboard won't care, it's the graphics card that actually, will either work all 1gb, or only the 256mb if it's been changed.

Good Luck to you, and my answer is as long as it's a PCI Express X16 card, Yes, GO FOR IT!

Don't forget the leave a rating based on my solution.

Choosing Graphics card.

NVidia Geforce series, i have found is the most reliable and less likely to screw with your system in a negative way like Radeon.

I have used all forms of video cards in the past. the GeForce series is stable. I have a Dual HDMI output card myself, its only a 512mb DDR2 but it does the work load of MMORPG's with ease and my system very rarely has issues unless i am trying to run more than i rightly should. So my suggestion is the GF9600T. It is powerful beyond beleif and will make resolution and texture ratio through the roof.

Thats my professional opinion on this.
