I bought an insigna kit i guess off of ebay with 2 12' subs and an 600 watt amp now on one of da sub i have a short right at da post i want to know if its a problem i can soder since i dont see soder on i dont know if i run my - wire off the post right above the short u cant even tell but it pisses me off to have to skip my post if i put it in da post and push inon da sub it sounds fine what should i do

pretty much any amplifier can run any sub, so the question is not weather or not the amp can run them, it is how well the amp can run them. Those Pioneer subs are dual VC models and are rated at 600 watts RMS. You have two, so that would be about 1200 watts of RMS power you will need in order to power the subs correctly and to optimum efficiency. The amplifier model you have is rated at 600 watts RMS for a single channel at the lowest stable impendence. That power coming from the amp will be split two ways between the subs and divide the power to each speaker. So each speaker will be receiving 300 watts of power. So in short yes, your amp will power those subs, but they will only be operating at half their rated power. Your amp will be running at maximum power so it might get a little warm after a while. make sure you wire it correctly and keep the amp well ventilated if you decide to push it that hard. if you need help on how to wire them search the web for wiring options by typing into Google " how to wire two dual voice coil subs into amp". MY BEST GUESS FROM WHAT YOU HAVE SAID IS THAT THE BOX WAS TO SMALL. BUT YOU ARE OVERPOWERING THE SUB RUNNING IT AT 2 OHMS ON A 750 WATT AMP WITH A SUB THAT IS ONLY RATED FOR 600. NO MATTER HOW FAR YOU TURN YOUR SETTINGS DOWN, YOUR STILL PUSHING TO MUCH POWER FOR THE SUB TO HANDLE. IT IS ONLY RATED 600 WATTS FOR A REASON. ESPECIALLY IF YOU LISTEN TO MUSIC THAT HAS A REAL LOW END AND THEN A HARD HIT. REMEMBER A HARD HIT WILL SPIKE YOUR AMPS OUTPUT THEREFORE PUSHING MORE WATTAGE TO THE SUB.
Hello. Quick answer...bad sub and amp combo due to fact that your sub needs a lot more power than this amp can produce (I'll explain later). But here is how you can do it: You can wire this dual 4 ohm sub in parallel or series. Parallel wiring would be to wire two the positive terminals on the sub to each other and wire two the negative terminals on the sub to each other. Thus wiring down the sub to 2 ohm. This what the amp would see. Series wiring would be to wire the positive and negative terminals on the same side of the sub to each other. Then wire the positive and negative terminals on the other side to the amp. Thus wiring the sub to 8 ohm. This what the amp would see. Your sub specs are 1500 watts rms (how many watts your sub needs to operate efficiently or its minimum requirement. It has the a peak wattage at 3000 watts that it can accept in short duration. Your amp can only produce 300 to 600 watts at 2 or 4 ohm respectively. So you would be greatly under powering the sub which would produce a weak unfulfilled sound. You need an amp that produces a true 1200 to 1800 watts rms. There is a great selection out there.
You need to get another amp for your sub. I would say if you want good quality go for MTX because I have had amps from MTX and never had a problem. what you need to know is look at the fuses on the amp if there are 3 of the 25 amp fuses on there then it should push out about 750 watts but on MTX they under clock the amp so it will push about 800 at 14.4 volts for that you will need a 4 gauge wiring kit with a 60 amp fuse in the fuse link. As far as your other amp hook up the speakers and tweeters to that but be sure to tune in down and you would need a 8 gauge wiring kit. I hope this helps you.
If the amp is 1200 watts at 2 ohm stable you will want to set up the speakers as parrallel and bridge the amp. That means conncect the speakers with + to + and - to -. Look at the amp connections. Usually thereare connects that look like this:
+ - + -
If yours look like this use the diagram on top. You will use the + for the left ouput on the amp to the right - on the amp. This will allow you to use all the power from the amp. Be sure to lower the gain as to not pop the speakers or amp.
First for finding the amp I would go to Ebay, there are a lot to choose from there. A one channel amp would be the best being that it is made to drive subs. If each sub is 4ohms and you wire them in parallel (positive to positive-negative to negitive) you'll get a 2ohm mono load. So the amp you buy should be rated at about 600 watts RMS @ 2ohms to match the subs. You can however go with an amp that has a lower or higher rating and be fine. Just try to get one that is close to what you need. My recommendation would be a JL Audio 500/1 sub amp. (Ebay has some on sale now) The amp has a feature called ohm matching making it very easy to use with almost any setup. It also has subsonic filters and many other features so check it out.
your Volfenhag 12" subs are rated at 1200 watts they are only 600 watts rms and the Rockford punch p4004 is only 200 watts rms so the answer is yes it will work but if you get a amplifier that pushes out 500 - 600 watts rms you will love the sound from subs
there is nothing wrong with the Rockford amp it just wont pound out the bass as hard but the good news is you will never blow the subs with it
when buying amps or subs make sure to look at rms rating that is the true power they actually have ie. (sub box says 1200 watt you think powerful but if you divide it in 1/2 you actually get 600 watts rms) don't get me wrong that's a nice rating. for a sub but you will want to match that number with the amps rms rating or lower. The RMS is what makes the car pound the higher the RMS the better
