Question about Kodak EasyShare C613 Digital Camera

Kodak Easyshare Software has stopped working

That is the error message I get every time I try to open the Easyshare program on Vista. I have tried everything and I'm ready to give up on Kodak software and Vista altogether. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Easyshare 7 several times (from the Kodak website), and made sure I have the most recent Quicktime installed (from the link on the Kodak website). I'm going to wear out my computer just rebooting it over and over trying to get this stupid software to work. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get a product that is supposed to work on Vista, to actually work on Vista?
Thanks,
Frustrated Al

I HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH KODAK SOFTWARE AND FINAL JUST GAVE UP ON KODAK AS A WORTHLESS CAUSE. THEIR CUSTOMER "SERVICE" WAS LOUSY AND THEY NEVER CAME UP WITH A SOLUTION THAT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. I TRIED ALL THEIR SOFTWARE TOOLS, EVEN EDIT MY REGISTRY TO REMOVE ALL TRACES OF KODAK BEFORE REINSTALLING KODAK AND IT STILL WOULDN'T WORK, SO I TOLD THEM THEY SUCKED AND DELETED EVERYTHING THAT SAID KODAK AND STARTED USING WINDOWS PHOTO GALLERY AND PICASA FROM GOOGLE AND HP SOFTWARE. SORRY, BUT I WAS NEVER ABLE TO SOLVE IT EITHER.

I was getting the message "Kodak easyshare software has stopped working" and couldn't find any forum with an answer. I called customer support and they were able to help me. I was running Vista 64 bit. And apparently the default installation installs in under the "c:\Program Files (x86)\" folder instead of the "c:\Program Files\" folder. They had me uninstall the software then create the folder "Kodak" under "c:\Program Files\". They also had me delete the "Kodak" folder under "c:\Program Files (x86)\" which I had trouble doing. I ended up having to go down in that directory and delete some of the files individually. In the end they said it was okay to leave a few files there. I then reinstalled the software - using custom settings and selected the "c:\Program Files\Kodak\" folder to install. After restarting it worked. This is a pretty simply error in the software that the programmers should have fixed. Fortunately the help people were helpful!

Kodak 5100 won't print with Windows 7.

I've had the same problem for some time, but recently found a fix. Those sneaky folks at Kodak updated their Vista driver for the ESP series, and it works with Windows 7 now. Oddly enough they haven't advertised this fact, but it works none-the-less. Now, you're going to have to uninstall the Kodak Home Center, the driver and anything else associated with Kodak. You need to manually go through the Program Folder and delete anything Kodak. Make sure you set explorer to show hidden files/directories, and go to Program Data and delete any thing Kodak. Finally go to users appdata and delete anything Kodak in all the sub folders there. Then download and install the new May 1 drivers from the Kodak site:

http://www.kodak.com/global/mul/service/downloads/DownloadLookup.jhtml?pq-path=9103/13657/13660&product=EKN035329

Note: They are the Windows Vista drivers, but they do work on my Windows 7 machine.

You'll also notice that they've updated their installer program.

Hope this works for you, and if it does spread the word!

Sorry to hear about your trouble. Since I am not sure of the details, let me offer a long review and suggestion. It may work for you, especially if the AiO software is not installing correctly.

If the KODAK AiO Home Center software fails to start or an error message appears, there may be a problem with the Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 installation. To resolve this condition:

1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add / Remove Programs (for Windows XP) or Programs and Features (for Windows Vista).
3. Select Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.

IMPORTANT: If other versions of Microsoft .NET Framework are listed, do not perform this operation on those other versions. Follow this procedure ONLY for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.

4. Click Change / Remove (for Windows XP) or Uninstall (for Windows Vista).

5. Select Repair, and click Next.
NOTE: A progress bar shows the repair progress.

6. After the repair is complete, make sure the Restart the computer check box is selected, and click Finish.

7. After the computer restarts, start the KODAK AiO Home Center software.

IMPORTANT: If the KODAK AiO Home Center software fails to start or continues to display an error message, completely uninstall Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and do a clean reinstall KODAK AiO Home Center software. The Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 will also be reinstalled with the KODAK AiO Home Center software.

1. Follow steps 1 - 4 above.

2. Select Uninstall, and click Next.
IMPORTANT: Uninstall ONLY Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. If other versions of Microsoft .NET Framework are listed, do not uninstall them.

3. Restart the computer.

4. Perform a clean re-installation of the KODAK AiO Home Center software:

a. Disconnect all USB devices from the computer, including the Kodak EasyShare all-in-one printer.
NOTE: Do not disconnect your mouse or keyboard.
b. Uninstall the Kodak EasyShare 5000 series all-in-one software:

1. In the Control Panel, select Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Program and Features (Windows Vista).
2. Select one of the following software programs from the list of currently installed programs, depending on which one appears in your list:

Kodak EasyShare software
Kodak all-in-one printer software
Kodak EasyShare 5000 series all-in-one software

3. Click Change or Remove (Windows XP) or Uninstall (Windows Vista).

I have upgraded my Easy share software to version 7.1 ever since I cannot open the program. It comes up with The message of "One or more system DLL's could not be loaded :ES App.dll " then appears the message of "Easyshare unable to run. Please run Setup and choose repair to fix the application.[0,5006,0] " . When I run the repair program, it blocks part way through and the error message of 1334x97x3839719742x appears. Short of getting rid of Kodak off my computer which I dont want to do as I have important pics in the album, and I have a Kodak digital camera. What can I do to fix.
