Your CMOS battery needs to be changed. When you start the computer you put the information in or it resets to a default value when you disconnect power that clears the CMOS memory as though it had never been turned on before. The CMOS battery is on the motherboard so you will have to open the machine up. It normally looks like a large watch battery a little larger than a nickel and a little thinner.
Directions for Desk Clock - Without the

To
change the Temperature:
Press
the "S" button once (this will change from Fahrenheit to Celsius)
To
change the Time and Date:
Press
the "M" button once to change time to or from military time
Press
the "S" button once to change the hour
Press
the "S" button again to change the minute
Press
the "S" button again to change the year
Changing the year will also change the day of the week
Press
the "S" again to change the month
Press
the "S" again to change the date
To
set the Alarm:
Press
the button with an alarm clock on it
Press
the "S" button once
A flashing 12:00 should appear
Press
the arrows to set the hour
Press
the "S" button again to set the minutes
Press
the "S" button again to change the "ring" of the alarm
There will ne a number below the time the alarm is set for
Use the arrows to advance through the options
To
turn the alarm functions completely off:
Press
the button with the alarm clock on it
Press
the "S" button five times
When three dashes appear where the time would be, it is off.
Press
the "M" button three times to get back to the main clock function
To
clear the secondary clock:
You
can set two different times on the clock, so if you travel frequently you can
have a home time with alarm and a travel time with alarm saved and ready to
go. There is a primary time, the one you normally see on the clock with
an alarm clock function after it. There is also a secondary time with an
alarm function after it.
Clearing
the secondary clock will make it easier to know when you get back to the
primary clock function.
Press
the "M" button three times
Press
the "S" button seven times
When three dashes appear where the time would be, it is off
Press
the "M" button two more times
And
you are Done!
The
detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and
time on the right hand side box. Select that date. Go to 'Start' and

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a
reboot.
After reboot login to windows and
write "msconfig" inside Run tab and press 'enter'
inside the 'System configuration
utility' window click on 'startup' tab then uncheck all the applications except
your current antivirus and press apply then 'ok' and then 'exit without
restart' option.
Now right click My Computer and go to properties tab.
click 'Advanced' tab then under performance menu click on 'settings'
go to 'Advanced' click on 'change' and increase your virtual memory to 2048 in
both spaces.
Now restart windows.
To quickly restart windows press CNTRL+ALt+DEL
inside task manager you will find all the open applications.
right click on each application and click on end process tree then ok
Close all your apps like this and you will find your windows a lot faster and
now you can reboot or turn off your windows as usual from start button.
