I can imagine it how annoying it would be to you to see your cell vibrating instead of playing your favorite ring tone. Most probably it could be because of incorrect Profile configuration. It is possible to make your phone vibrate in almost every profile so we will assume that it is the reason for your problem too. Do the following and check some parameters as described.
1. Go to Menu > Settings > Profiles 2. Select Profile and then Select General. 3. After selecting General you will be given 3 options (Activate, Personalize, Timed) 4. Select Personalize. 5. In the Incoming Call Alert field, select Ringing. 6. In the Ringing Tone field, select your favorite ring tone. 7. Scroll down, (push down button) the next field would be Ringing Volume. For now select the max. 8. Scroll down to the Vibrating Alert field and set it to Off. 9. Scroll further down thill the very last field where it says Alert For, select All Calls for this field. 10. Save your modifications. 11. Activate the profile and see if it works now.
Only and only If it doesn't work, it may be due to software corruption. In that case reset your phone to the factory default settings by going to: Menu > Settings > Press UP button. Select Restore Factory Sett. give your Security Code (default = 12345) and viola. (Make backup of your messages ad contacts before attempting this)
Some how your phone was reset or had the tone turned off. Just follow the below guide and your audio should come back on. I would do a soft reset (turn off the handset, remove the battery then reinsert) before performing the instructions.
Tone settings To select a ringing tone for voice calls, select Tones > Ringing tone. To select a ringing tone for video calls, select Tones > Video call tone. To set the ringing type, select Tones > Ringing type. You can also set the device to sound a ringing tone that is a combination of the spoken name of the caller and the selected ringing tone, when someone from your contacts list calls you. Select Tones > Say caller's name. To set the volume level of the ringing tone, select Tones > Ringing volume. To set the various alert tones, select Tones > Message alert tone, E-mail alert tone, Calendar alarm tone, or Clock alarm tone. To set the device to vibrate when you receive a call, select Tones > Vibrating alert. To set the volume level of the device keypad tones, select Tones > Keypad tones.
I have included a link to download your user manual if needed, it comes as a PDF file so you need to have adobe PDF down loader
Reboot the HH,restart the HH and follow the follwing steps Press Menu,Select Clock-press menu-select alert type as tone-select the tone from the given list and save it.Check whether if you are able to listen to the tone.
separate alarm you may use the calendar to do list to set alarm times for each scheduled tasks you want. and if you just want your phone to just vibrate and not ring then costumize your profile put your incoming call alert to off then on you vibrate and thats it!
menu 2 settings 3 tones incoming call alert (set to ringing) ringing tone ( pick your ring tone) ringing volume (set to level 5 loudest) vibrating alert (on) message alert tone (pick tone) instant message alert tone (standard) keypad tones (on) warning tones (on) this is for the alarm and ringtone this is where your problem is so double check these settings ok alert for (all calls)
I think i can help you. The problem I'm having is that the alarm tone is too brief an too low. So brief that it doesn't come close to waking me up. Try this, Have someone send you a ring tone or some thing u want to wake up to. Within the message there is an option that will let u save the sound in your documents or ring tone folder. Try both. An hopefully when you set your alarm tone it will allow you to set the music, sound you just saved. If that doesn't work the HTC website has a trouble shooting section. I think it addresses this problem. Good luck i hope this helps

once you have done them settings try your phone and see if it works if not then follow these instructions 1. menu 2 settings 3. profiles 4 general then personalise the set like this Incoming call alert (ringing) ringing tone (choose ringtone) ringing volume (level 5 ) vibrating alert (on) message alert tone (choose tone) instant message alert tone (standard) Keypad tones (on) warning tones (on) alert for (all calls) once you have changed the last setting press back then select activate your phone should be now be working if not let me know ok
The Alarm overides the Profiles. If you don't want an alarm to sound, don't set it. There is no point in setting an alarm if you don't want it to ring. Set the Alarm warning tone! to Vibrate.
You can change the settings of the selected active profile.
Select Menu > Settings > Tones > Incoming call alert, Ringing tone,
Ringing volume, Vibrating alert, Push to talk settings, Message alert
tone, Instant msg. alert tone, Keypad tones, or Warning tones. You can
find the same settings in the Profiles menu.
