My kodak 763 quit working and I thought it was the battery, even though the camera was only 6 months old. I replaced and recharged the battery but the camera still does not work. I comes on for less than a second and then shuts down completely.

I think ur in a warranty period ,directly service it with service center, else the best way is to take it to authorized service station to troubleshooting and estimate the cost and parts need to repair.to troubleshoot yourself and replace components is difficult if you have no previous experience in repairing electronics printed board and you must have atleast some basic tools and instruments..

good luck

Did you try a hard reset ?

  • Anonymous Sep 20, 2008

Remove the batteries and then after 2 mins hold down the power button on on position for 45 seconds without inserting the batteries, that will release the static power and then try putting the batteries and do the normal operation. but dont forget to take the memory card out of the camera while resetting the camera. And one more thing dont put the memory card back after you put the batteries and check the opetation without the memory card.

Kodak c182 - Battery door cracks

No you will have to send the camera away for repair.

An Out of Warranty repair for this model for this fault is about 25 pounds + shipping. KODAK also offers a Trade up option where you will have the opportunity to trade up to a newer model 25-30% cheaper than the market price.

In order to arrange your repair/Trade up: Contact KODAK:

Kodak EasyShare M763

I went ahead and looked this up for you. Kodak says you need a Li-Ion Rechargeable Digital Camera Battery KLIC-7001.

You had the right idea, but the wrong number. Hope this helps.

Kodak Easy Share z712 IS not detecting charged battery

I have the exact same camera almost a year too. It is a total "swinka" on batteries. About 10-15 shots on super ni-cads, and quits without warning.

A pair of Energizer 7X gave me near 500 shots. Much cheaper but still ...

So 4 months ago I bought a charger and 2 rechargeables. Charge one while using the other one.
I may get 70-90 shots per charge on these lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, without flash.

Testing the batteries without a load doesn't really tell you anything.
What's the reading? Should be well over 4 volts when fully charged. Mine show 4.2V

Camera not operating - cannot take picture

alkaline batteries?
please try lithium crv3 or lithium aa's, it may really do that even with a new set of alkaline aa's
if you're using ni-mh, make sure it's recharged and if it is, and it's still doing the same thing.. note that most ni-mh's life span is 300 charging cycles. if you barely use the rechargeable batteries, they can still deteriorate through time. if the rechargeable batteries are new, or say 6 month's old - that means the cam actually needs a repair

Battery Problem

I figured out the problem. My AA battery recharger was not making good contact, so although it said the batteries were recharged, this was not the case. After fixing this and getting full recharges, the problem went away.
