Sanyo PLV 70 - Power Won't Turn On

I've plugged the unit in but it doesn't turn on! It's happened the last few times I've unplugged then plugged it back in. Prior to today, i've messed around with it, opened the projector up, and eventually I plug it and and the lights come on, however, I've had no luck in my latest efforts!! I've tried putting a new lamp in it and it still doesn't work. I've tried differenct outlets, and still no luck!! Anyone come across this problem???

It could that the plastic stem on the inside of the lamp cover on the underside of the projector may have snapped off. if it has you'll have to wedge something onto the cross shaped hole, to keep button inside the hole pressed in, in order for the projector to turn on

There may be a burnt capacitor on the circuit board. If you are savy in electronics and soldering you may be abel to replace yourself if you can determine which one it is and find an exact replacement. I don't believe there are too many on the board. Otherwise take to a repair shop and have them check out the capacitors.

overheating. clean out the projector with canned air. dust keeps in the heat. should be done periodically. about every 500 hours or so, depending on usage and environment. if it happens often after that, replace the thermosensor and check the fans.

Loss of picture

Yes, it is the projector.
Take the filter out and vaccum it, take the lamp out and use compressed air to clean the dust away.
Be carefull witt the air thoug! keep it a bit away from the projector when u cleand the dust away, to close and you can make big mamages inside it.
And, remeber to keep the filter as cleas as possible, i clean min every 2,5-3 monthes.

Good luck

Sanyo plv z4 shuts down

call sanyo tech department and they will help you increase the fan speed to cool the unit. This is done with the remote so it was pretty easy. Make sure your filters are very clean first (use compressed air or a co2 canister. Have not had a problem since, my units run on average 8 hours a night and have not shut down.
