Just reinstall vista from the CD which came with your PC, when complete, Boot up and connect to the internet. Windows will want to update automatically, during this process, the later service packs (SP) will be downloaded and installed.

Ntfs is missing

To resolve this problem, replace the missing or corrupted Ntfs.sys file:
  1. Use the Windows Vista startup disks or the Windows Vista CD to restart your computer.
  2. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to select the To repair a Windows Vista installation using Recovery Console, press R option.
  3. Type the number of the Windows installation that you want to access from the Recovery Console, and then press ENTER.
  4. Type the administrator password when you are prompted, and then press ENTER. If no administrator password exists, just press ENTER.
  5. At the command prompt, type the following commands (press ENTER after each command): cd \windows\system32\drivers

ren ntfs.sys ntfs.oldNote This step renames the corrupted Ntfs.sys file to Ntfs.old. If the Ntfs.sys file is not found, the file is missing.
  6. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER: copy cd:\i386\ntfs.sys drive:\windows\system32\driversWhere cd is the drive letter for the CD-ROM drive that contains the Windows Vista CD, and drive is the drive where you installed Windows Vista .
  7. Remove the Windows Vista CD from your CD-ROM drive, type quit at a command prompt, and then press ENTER to quit the Recovery Console.
  8. Restart the computer.
  9. rate me 4 thumbs up please

How can I install the Microsoft Office 2007? I want to install the Microsoft Office 2007 in my PC. But I don't know the procedure.

1. Put the MS Office install CD in your computer's CD drive.
2. Open "My Computer"
3. Open your CD drive (which will be most likely "D" or "E"
4. Look for a file named "SETUP" or SETUP.EXE
5. Double click that file
6. Punch in the info it asks you
It will then install - should be very easy and simple from there.

How can i install vista in my lenovo g550.i have installed xp priviously, but,now want to install vista in it.i have the copy of vista home premium os cd. please help me.

1. Backup all your files. Windows XP has a "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" under System Tools under Accessories under All Program. Use it to create one (large) file -- copy that file to a DVD-recordable disk or to a USB memory-stick or to an external disk-drive.
2. Verify that you can read that file -- writing a "bad" copy would be horrific.
3. Access the LENOVO web-site -- looking for device-drivers for your model of Lenovo,
that will not be contained on the Vista CD. Download them, and save them to a CD-recordable disk (not a USB disk -- you may need these device-drivers, in order to enable the USB ports after installing Vista).
4. Insert the Vista CD. It should "autorun" something, asking your permission to start the installation of Vista.
5. Follow the on-screen prompts.
6. After the install completes, use "Windows Update" several times, to get all the security-fixes that have been issued since the release of your Vista CD.

Error 1335. The Cabinet file Data1.cab required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used.

When you try to install Microsoft Office 2000 or Microsoft Office XP, you may receive the following error message: Error 1335-Cannot copy cab file Office1.cab. The file may be corrupt. I want to do partition of my hard disk.So please help me

You need to partition your hard drive before you install an operating system on it. If you boot off your windows CD and your hard drive has a partition already you will get a screen that prompts you to format it. You can also dellete the partition and make a new partition. AT that time you can select the size of the partition you want to make and creat multiple partitions. If you choose you can creat one smaller partition from the space available for you to format and install windows on and format the rest of the available space later on after windows is installed from the Administration Tools in control panel.
