2003 pt cruiser dripping engine oil..where could it be from?

Dripping is not a good sign. That could be a lot of oil being lost, the usual places to check are the oil pan plug and filter to make sure they are not loose. If they are not leaking then you need to start checking gaskets on the oil pan and valve covers, dip stick and oil cap, and sending unit. If they are not leaking then you are looking at main seals inside the engine.

How to do a oil change

Pull the drain plug, change the oil filter, replace the drain plug. Add oil until the dipstick reads full. Start the engine and make sure the oil light goes out. Check for leaks around the oil filter with the car running. Recheck the oil level, add as necessary. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Leaking oil Ford Freestar-was halfway between two lines on dipstick when I checked last week-puddle this evening and am down just past the bottom line-put in a quart but am worried to drive the car to

well it could be several things like pan plug seal cracked, oil pan leaking, rear main seal bad, front engine seal bad, head bolts not properly torqued, head could be cracked, but I would start with the oil pan drain plug seal and work from there.

Found little cream colored almost plunger looking thing in pan when changing franny fluid and filter dont know where it came from in tranny and car looses power after warm up

the thing you found is a plug that the factory has installed into the dip stick hole wile assembling the car, when the dip stick tube is installed they just push the plug into the transmission oil pan and leave it there it cant hurt anything, so when you service the transmission for the first time you find the plug and throw it away it is not needed, don't feel foolish you would be amazed at how many times i have been asked this question.

Hi. What parts are needed to replace engine oil leak? Valve cover, front timing cover gasket?

An oil leak can come from from several different places.

It could be from a valve cover, oil filter, oil pan, dip stick, oil drain line, oil pump, and a few other places.

I'd try to see where the leak is coming from first. Clean your engine bay and grab a bunch of lights.

Light up the engine bay and see where the leak is coming from. Once you find the leak, you'll know what to replace.

Replacing everything is just spending needless money. I'd also suggest checking to make sure you're not over filled.

How/Where do I chek my transmission fluid?

YOUR TRANSMISSION DONT HAVE TRANSMISSION DIP STICK YOU HAVE A LEVEL CHECK PLUG ON BACK SIDE OF OIL PAN YOU NEED A SCREW DRIVER TO PRY OUT LEVEL CHECK PLUG.WITH ENGINE RUNNING FLUID TEMPERATURE 95 TO 113 DEGREES. IF FLUID COMES OUT SMALL DRIPS FLUID LEVEL OKAY.IF FLUID POURS OUT CHECK HOLE YOU HAVE TOO MUCH FLUID IN TRANSMISSION. IF NO FLUID COMES OUT CHECK HOLE.ADD A PINT OF FLUID AT A TIME SO YOU WONT OVERFILL TRANSMISSION. YOU NEED A NEW CHECK PLUG O - RING. IF YOU REUSE THE OLD O-RING YOU WILL HAVE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK.DONT REMOVE CHECK LEVEL PLUG UNTIL YOU HAVE PLENTY TRANSMISSION FLUID ON HAND AND A NEW CHECK PLUG O- RING THE DEALERSHIP HAVE IT.
