Asus A7V8X-MX SE and Sweex CR005V2 connection problem

Hi,
I have bought the Sweex CR005V2 cardreader and pluged it into the usb5-6 (7-pin) connection on my motherboard. But windows (XP home) doesn't see it at all. I tried, changing the jumper for the power settings form '+5V' to '+5VSB (Default)' (see manual (http://dlsvr.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socka/KM400/a7v8x-mx%20se/e1493_a7v8x-mx_se.pdf) from motherboard for more info page 23). The only change is that windows now see a SCSIadapter (never had that before).
Could you help me please?

    Hi,

I have recently found a way to install it anyway, by ordering and install a PCI card for extra USB connectors and it had also a (7-pin) usb header onboard that did work. So I plugged my Sweex cardreader in and it suddenly worked.

    Anyway, thanks for your support!

download the latest software from the manufacturer's website, and install the software *BEFORE* plugging the usb device into the computer. the installer will tell you when to plug the usb device in. once it tells you, windows will automatically detect the device and install the proper software drivers if you are patient!
