Hey you might find a solution on this audio and wiring blog: www.audioholicblog.com -- it has a blog about wiring your home audio system and the cables that you will need.

Hopefully this helps! Good Luck!

Klh powered subwoofer model ASW10-120B... when you plug in to power... it makes a loud buzzing/humming noise

I would check the caps on the power supply. They are rather large electrolytic capacitors that will look like they burst and/or leaking. When these die, the caps ground and the sub will make a loud buzzing sound. If you are handy with a soldering iron you can replace them yourself. Replace them with the same voltage or a little bigger and same with the size.

If the cap. says 16v 4700pF on it, for example, a 20v 5300pF or a 16v 6200mF cap. will work for this application.

Trying to hook up a KLH sub woofer, S100ETH, PSW8-100 to a VCR reciever. Reciever has sub woofer connection but does not works on the KLH sub woofer. What is the problem ?

I suggest you go over your receiver set-up instructions. See if you need to set the receiver to acknolwedge the addition of the subwoofer. It should be in your receiver set-up steps. Just as a check, hook up one of your other speakers to the subwoofer lead to see if gets audio signal. I'm guessing the issue is your receiver settings.

I'm about to hook up my KLH to an Onkyo Receiver with Audyssey sound features. 2 questions: it asks me to set my sub to 75 DB. Since my volume dial goes 0-10, which number maps to 75 DB? Also, what...

I think it wants you to raise the volume high enough on the sub so IT can hear at least 75dB. It can always adjust the sub downward if necessary. Max it out at the sub and let Audyssey deal with the adjustment.

Your crossover frequency selection would be a piont below which you want the sub to activate. It depends on the bass capabilities of your other speakers. You want some overlap so there's no droop in the crossover region where your main speakers roll off.

I have a klh home theater speakers with a subwoofer the sub work but when i hook up speakers no sound comes out?

The sub works but the speakers don't? Do you hook up the speakers to the subwoofer output "loop"? This is a circuit issue when it works and stops working. I have the same issue so I wound up joining the wires that go to the sub and the wires that go to the speaker together and place those connections into the sub. The sub works, the satellite speaker works and the impedance load is no issue for my system. Confused? Simply run your neg/pos wire to the sub and where it connects to the sub, run another cable to the speaker (pos to pos., neg to neg).

The only way to repair it would be to deal with component level repair. Although I have the experience, it is too petty and it works fine the way it is.

I have a klh 116615p bg11 12 sub and need to know the watagew it doesnt say

This woofer was taken from a KLH Pro-71 Series. These were the top of the KLH line from ~94-99 when it was still a real company and not just a name. The woofer is rated for 5-350 watts at 8 ohms. Source: KLH Pro Series-71 Spec Sheet.

KLH ASW8-100b Sub woofer. I need to know how to hook it up to my surround sound

Some specific model numbers might lead us to specific manuals and specific instructions.

Depends on your source and its amplifer complement. Some can drive a subwoofer directly while others just produce a Line Level subwoofer output for use by a separate amp feeding a subwoofer or self-amplified sub.

The set-up of the source to produce a subwoofer output is totally dependent on its design. Generally, you have to 1) tell it you have a sub, 2) define how bass will be routed or shared among your various speakers accordingto their bass-handling capacities, 3) using test tones, set the relative ludness and crossover settings so you have a uniform sound field.

To find a manual, maybe run it by the manufacturer

My KLH subwoofer (model ASW8-120B) has stopped working and emits only a low-pitched hum.. I have tried hooking it up using the ''high-level'' 2-wire inputs as well as the ''low level'' RCA plug inputs....

It's unlikely that you can find a shop to repair it for less than the replacement cost ($75ish for a comparable KLH or Sony sub)

If you're up for doing your own soldering, here's a solution for the same problem with the same amp.

If this helps, please hit the "thumbs up" for me!

Klh subwoofer asw12 200 powers on but no sound, hooked up my other sub works fine

There's an amp inside the unit, most likely the semicondutor that does all the work has failed in it.

I just need a diagram on hooking it up corectly. wHERE CAN i FIND ONE

looked for a while for a manual but could find no reference to it, however set up of this system should be self explanatory:

assuming speakers are identified then it is simply a case of connecting the right speaker to the right output on the sub.

Rear speakers tend to use different frequencys from the front speakers so if you cable them incorrectly, it wouldn't harm the system, just probably sound rubbish.............
