Question about PC Desktops
Being one of the many unhappy Vista users, I'm very unhappy. I'm very unhappy because the paper weight I now call my old computer, was a trooper up until the day it completely died. It was so old and actually worked better then this computer...my Vista computer. I never had a problem with iTunes on my old computer, Vista apparently does. Every so often I have to go to "change and uninstall programs" and repair iTunes to get it to open. Also, new programs I download. It won't let me. Now I don't know about you...But when I download a new program, I'd actually like to use it. Also, I don't know if it's Vista or just my computer. But I got the "blue screen of death" about 10 minutes after turning it on for the first time. (BRAND SPANKIN' NEW) And I constantly get the blue screen randomly. I do not know why, I've run numerous virus scans, had it looked at...there's nothing wrong with it. Sometimes I get the blue screen 2-3 times a day. This makes me very unhappy with Dell. Yes, I called tech support. And (chuckles) guess what they said? "The Vostro 1400 is a very special system, it cannot be fixed over the phone".....Really....really???, Like I was expecting him to reach through the phone and magically make my computer work. Honestly....But what ever, if you have the same problem please feel free to complain, and if you have any tips or a way to fix this. Please HELPPP!!! can't install educational cd and monopoly
Stop fighting with something that can be a hardware problem (possibly why they can't fix it over the phone) .. don't try to open the computer.. you will void your warranty... and you want to keep that as much as you can.
if you are curious:
check your event viewer utility.. bsod should be recorded there if no settings had been changed for this. and make a note of the stop error and look for it online or post it here if you need help.
I had a similar situation with an MDG computer with vista.. brand new aswell.. I sent it back as it was within warranty and a few days later my vista computer was back home..
put as much memory as you can afford.. and install the sp1 as recommended (or have them install it for you) only then you may start feeling confident about your purchase..
