Why can't I get Cosmi Print Perfect Gold to access files on my computer?

It is possible your Antivirus is blocking the install of this older program.
Usually you can disable the antivirus, install the program, and then re-enable your antivirus.

If you know how to view your disk in Windows Explorer, you can 'Right Click' on the setup file (often setup.exe) and choose 'Run As Administrator'. This allows your computer to update files that it would normally restrict

The last thing to try is to Right-Click that same file and choose 'Properties' (at the bottom). You'll then see this window:
wsdlo3uzukgygaaaabjru5erkjggg==

but the program name will be setup.exe or whatever you clicked on. Choose the Compatibiilty tab near the top. You'll see
naaaaabjru5erkjggg==
Check / click the box for 'Compatibility Mode', and choose Windows XP like I did in the picture above. Then click Apply, the OK.

Try your install again!

Hope this helps, all the best to you,

Hi

I'll start with a few issues that might or might not be relevant but do need to be considered and eliminated.

I will assume that this game is in the PC Format required for use with computers, rather than Games Consoles and is compatible with Windows XP and is not an older program designed for use with older Operating Systems such as Windows 95, 98, ME or 2000 or for only other, newer Operating Systems such as Windows Vista, Windows 7, Linux or Mac OSX. I will also assume it is stored on a genuine original disc rather than a copy of one.

It is likely that it is one of a certain type of games which can only be played with the Disc in the computer. The original discs of such games can rarely be copied successfully and when copied discs are used, they tend to produce exactly the same results you describe.

Instead of inserting the disc when requested, leave the disc in the computer and start the game with disc already inside, ready for XP to immediately recognise and access it without any delay.

If this doesn't solve the problem > uninstall the game and all its components completely from the computer > start > control panel > add or remove programs >click once to highlight the game's program > Uninstall > yes > OK > shut down > restart the computer > check that the read surface of the disc is clean and unscratched, wiping the read surface of the disc in a gentle, slow, circular motion, using a slightly damp paper towel, if necessary > install the program again carefully and methodically, looking out for tick box options you may have missed during previous installations, especially any alternative option that allows you to choose whether to access the game's files from the disc during play or, alternatively, to do so from the computer - if so, choose computer > Restart the computer > leaving the disc inside the computer, test the game again > to remove the last doubt, test the game without the disc in the computer.

Good luck!

I hope this helps.

I think what you are talking about is a license key for the game. The person that sold this game should have provided the key for you when you purchased the game. Without that key there isn't any legal way for you to install the game. Maybe you can contact the seller and see about retrieving the key from them?

I hope this helps! If this did help you, please give a thumbs up!

New game won't install. Game made for vista installing on W 7. Auto play window dosent come up. Don't know if it's computor or cd.

Sometime Auto-Play doesn't come up and you have to manually locate the setup.
1) Go to My Computer and right click on the drive containing the game CD.
2) Then click explore on the popup menu.
3) Now locate the setup.exe file and double click it, this should start to install the game.

If the game doesn't work on your Operating System then it would say so during the install. This shouldn't happen though if you are using a Windows OS such as XP, Vista or Win7.

Your rating on this solution is much appreciated, this can be done by clicking on the thumbs up at the top right of this solution.
Thanks.
