Troubleshooting with the Kodak tech (1-800-421-6699 US & Canada)
my printer would not print black and copy was almost blank....they are sending me a new
printhead....it looks like there are alot of issues with this printer.
but I love the value

hiTurn on your printer After that press: Menu - Scan - Copy - Scan. It will enter in Service Mode. Here I don't know exactly the procedure but may be something like that for mpc190/200 that follow: Resetting the Waste Ink Volume Counter 1) Enter SERVICE MODE.--- By pressing Menu-Copy-Scan-Copy-Copy 2) Select TEST MODE. 3) Select  PRINTER TEST in TEST MODE. 4) Select 3. [EEPROM CLEAR]. 5) Select 0. [INK COUNT]. 6) Press the [OK] key. 7) Press the [Stop/Reset] key (returning to the state of 3)), and then press the [ON/OFF] key. I hope this helps youRegards
Try removing and reseating the ink cartridges. If that does not work try replacing the cartridges with genuine Canon ink cartridges. This should alleviate your issue as error 5100 is due to cartridge failure of some sort.

Clean the printhead, then print and
Verify that inkjet paper is loaded in the paper trays.
On your desktop, start the KODAK All-in-One Home Center, then select the Help [?] icon.
From the Help menu, select Maintenance, then select Printhead Cleaning. The On/Off light flashes green during the cleaning procedure.
When the On/Off light glows a steady green, press Photo + Copy simultaneously to print a demo sheet
and you have to Replace ink cartridges.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you are using KODAK Ink Cartridges. Your KODAK All-in-One Printer is designed to work with KODAK Ink Cartridges. Kodak is not responsible for the compatibility or performance of either non-Kodak brand ink cartridges or refilled ink cartridges. Lift the printer access door, then remove the ink cartridges from the printhead.
Insert new KODAK ink cartridges into the printhead, then press down firmly until you hear the cartridges click into position.
Close the printer access door, then make the same print.
1.Please verify that the ink cartridges are intact and securely inserted into the printhead.
a.Lift the printer access door, then remove the ink cartridges from the printhead
b.Verify that the label on the ink cartridges is intact, and the cartridges are not damaged.
c.Insert the ink cartridges into the printhead, then press down firmly until you hear them click into position.
2.Clean the printhead.

3.Print Demo Page.
Press Photo and Copy buttons at the same time for 2-3 seconds or until the printer starts printing then release the buttons.
