I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with a cd in disk drive. The door will open but disk won't come out. What do I need to do to remove it?

The CD is loose in the drive. You need to remove the CD drive from the computer and then remove the metal case off the drive then you can remove the CD. Put the metal case back on the drive and install the CD drive back into the computer.

Cd draw on computer wont open

Hi,
If you are able to remove the side of your PC so the CD/DVD drive is visible then you are able to remove the stability screws and remove the drive.
Yhis is a fairly simple operation so no need for extreme computer knowledge.
Once removed there is a release pin on the CD/DVD drive which will spit out the CD once pressed.
Thanks

How to remove cd drive

First, make sure everything is unplugged.
Open your PC case, one of the sides should be accessible via 2 screws. Determine where CD Drive is and which screws hold it in (there is a possibility that you may need to remove the entire case of the Tower). Unplug the cables that connect the Drive, then take the screws that hold the CD Drive out. At this point the Drive should slide out of either the inside or the front of tower. There may be a clip that holds the Drive in place that needs to be pressed while sliding.

Close the Tower back up, that's all you need to do!

Hope I helped!

Need to replace cd-rom drive, how difficult? dell dimension 3000 pc desktop

It is not difficult to change cd/dvd drive.
Open cpu cabinet.
Then remove icd cable and power cable from cd/dvd drive.
Then remove screws of old cd/dvd drive.
Then you can pull it from cabinet from front side.
Then put your new cd/dvd drive into it's position then lock it with screws.
Then connect ide cable from motherboard and power cable to drive.
Then you can use it.
If you connect to drive with 1 ide cable means if you connect harddrive and cd/dvd drive with 1 cable then set harddrive as master and cd/dvd rom as slave you can set it slave with jumper settings.
It is in back side of cd/dvd drive.
There is instruction how to slave it with jumper.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Need to install second cd driver in desktop computer

It would be much simpler to remove your current CD-ROM drive, and install a CD/DVD-reader-writer combination drive.

1. Turn the computer off, and disconnect the AC power-cord.
2. Remove the side-panels from the case.
3. Disconnect the "power" and "data" cables from the back of the CD-ROM.
4. Remove the screws holding the current CD-ROM in position.
5. Slide the CD-ROM out the "front" of the case.
6. Slide the new device into place, until the face is "flush" with the front of the case.
7. Screw the device into position.
8. Connect the data and power cables.
9. Reconnect the AC power.

Windows will "find new hardware", and will adapt itself.

Need to replace cd player in Compaq persrio 700 how do I do it? no screws in hinge covers?

Laptop off, remove the AC adapter, (Charger), if installed.
Remove the battery. Turn the laptop over so the bottom side is up.

Face the optical drive towards you. (CD drive)
See how there is a rectangular looking panel, on the bottom of the laptop? (Looking at the CD drive, the panel is over the CD drive. Bottom side of laptop)

See the single Philips head screw in the panel, towards the left corner?
Remove it.
Now take a paper clip, and bend it out straight. Make a small U-shape on the end of the straightened out paper clip, so you have something to hang onto.

On the drive tray that comes out of the CD drive, is a small hole. Insert the paper clip straight in.

This is a manual release to open the CD drive tray.
Gives you something to hang onto, to pull the CD drive out.

To install the new cd drive, (Player), just reverse these steps.

[Open drive tray. Slide CD drive in. Replace screw]

CD stuck inside the laptop, not in the CD/drive

If the CD is just a "copy" that can be re-created, then:
1. power OFF laptop
2. straighten-out on end of a paper clip
3. locate the tiny hole on the CD drive
4. push the stylus (the straightened-out paperclip) STRAIGHT into the hole with a strong push.
5. The stylus may need to be longer or stronger.

This always works...

I need to remove the cd drive from my emachines t5224.

Are you trying to remove the entire drive? or just a CD from inside the drive?

most CD drives have a pin-sized hole just below the drive tray (where you insert the CD) which will cause the drive to eject the tray as long as it is powered.

removing the drive itsself is not overly difficult either.
--Simply power off your machine, unplug it from the wall and wait a few minutes for any residual capacitance to bleed off (general safety precaution).
--Then open the outer case (normally held on by thumb screws or hex screws, you may need a screwdriver to do this)
--once the case is open/off, locate the CD drive inside the machine. simply unplug any cables AT THE DRIVE (do not unplug any cables at the main board unless you really know what you're doing or have to because often there are multiple things plugged in there and you could cause a more serious problem by doing so.)
--after everything is unplugged from the drive, locate the mounting screws and remove them (sometimes they are clips, other times screws or hex bolts). this will allow you to remove the drive itsself from the case.
--once the drive is out, put the case back on the machine and plug everything back in and you'll be good to go minus one CD drive.

hope this solution helps you, and please do not forget to rate me.

Cd rom drive and cd burner drive accidently removed

Not sure what OS you have, have you tried removing the drive in the device manager, and then restarting your machine to see if your OS reports new hardware? Or have you tried removing the new memory and restarting the system to see if you problem goes away? I might try this first.

Was anything else attempted or unplugged when installing the new memory?
