HP laptop won't always connect to zoom router

1. 1st my Internet Provider said it must be my wireless card. I replaced the hp wireless card it didn't help
2. i removed all firewalls - that didn't help
3. I brougt in my IT person from work and they say it's probably a problem between the zoom router and hp wireles card They updated all software and hardware and it connected BUT now it still
4. Sometimes connects fine and sometimes it won't connect.
5. regardless of whether or not it connects I always have 5 green bars showing excellent. I even sat it next to the router just to be sure there's no wall interference and it is the same. One time it connects and another it doesn't,
I'm simply frustrated--Anyone have a solution?

I have same problem. I have an HP G60-125NR laptop. Sometimes it will connect, sometimes it doesn't. There are times when it connects like for 10 mins then disconnects for 5 mins and repeats. I also see 5 bars of signal. I'm in the same room as my router. I thought it was my computer but when I had friends over, they all had the same problem. I wasn't sure whether it was HP or whether it was windows Vista. My sister's gateway laptop works fine.

Every time I have ran into this issue it is because of wireless interference. Try these steps:

1) If you have a cordless phone, try turning it off (unplug the base). Some cordless phones operate on the same frequency that your wireless network does.

2) Change the wireless 'channel' your network is on. There are 11 channels. For best results, choose either 1, 6 or 11. Most wireless routers come preconfigured on channel 6. So if your neighbor has wireless and is operating on the same channel, your leptop may be getting confused.

3) Make sure your laptop and wireless router are operating on the same encryption level (WEP, WPA or WPA-2) and speed (A, B or G). Some older laptops do not support WPA-2.

Good Luck!

I have hooked it up as the instructions state but it will not find the internet, I am useing a hp laptop and am trying to go wireless, it is the vista system

No its not your windows system, try to check again your wireless router if the software firmware are installed properly in your PC. Also to configure it and connect your internet provider to the Router, which is automatically create its own Protocol Address or Obtain Address, even on Wireless connection. This is basic on Wireless Router to connect on the internet. Good luck!

Lose Internet connection on wireless network

Go to the router configuration and change the options so you could use both of them, there is an option says only one type of connection or both of them, change it to both, and everything will be fine.

Laptop won't connect to wireless

Hello :-)
Try going into device manager, and uninstalling your wireless network adapter.
Reboot your PC. It will automatically reinstall your wireless network card.
Now try your wireless connection. This often solves random wireless issues.
Good luck!

Connection drop-outs

Is your laptop wireless adapter a compatable brand. It doesn't necessarily mean the router is bad, you may even be getting RADIO interference from a cordlees or a cell phone in it's path. Do you have the capability to plug a cat-5 cable directly into your laptop from the router when you lose wireless? Check the wireless channels and see about changing the channel on your cordless phone too. May not work, just a hunch.

Good Luck
