I have a Creative Zen Vision M (30 Gb) and am suddenly having some strange problems with sound. My usual headphones are now producing sound out of only the left channel. When I tried other headphones...

Hi if you are having head phone are giving you different sound from different head phones you have a head phone jack that is not connection properly. Some times the head phone jack can be replaced and that will fix it. other times the whole main board will have to be replaced due to a chip on the main board is whats causing the sound to change like it does. Try moving the jack around by twisting it and moving it from side to side while in the players whole. If the sound seems to change, start working on both side or you get static. as long as the sound you are getting is not staying the same then I would say its the head phone jack itself. It the sound stays the same witch is sounds like ti doesn't from what you have stated then it would be the main board. Either way something needs to be repaired.

If you need any more help, parts or your player repaired you can go to my repair service web page and e-mial me, call me or contact me threw my Ebay user name at from my web page at firehouse7777.weebly.com Thanks

My creative zen micro v0.0.65 got stuck in recovery mode

Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the Creative Zen website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.

Creative zen plus player problem?

Bad quality headphones? or possibly the headphone jack port is damaged which can alter the way songs sound. 9 times out of 10 it can be solved by buying new headphones.

Sound is not working!!

This is a VERY common problem with Zen Micros. There is a slim chance it's a break in one of the wires in your headphone lead: simply try another pair of 'phones to see if that fixes it.
It almost certainly won't, in which case your player has probably succumbed to the dreaded Loose Socket disease. The headphone socket is soldered to a circuit board in the player but it relies entirely on the solder to keep the socket in place as well as provide the necessary electrical connection. In electronics terms this is about as bodgy as you can get (BAD Creative!)
Solder is soft metal and even the small amount of sideways force that the headphone plug gets in use is enough to fracture the solder leading to the intermittent or total loss of audio that you are experiencing.
Repair is dead easy if you happen to have a soldering iron with a 1mm tip, a steady hand and you know how to take the player apart to get to it! Unfortunately in my experience it'll only be a temporary fix as sooner or later it'll come away again...
So the short answer is: you almost certainly can't fix it yourself; find an electronics techie :O)

Firmware error on creative zen

Check your LAN settings by going to Internet Options, select "connections" then LAN settings, then check the box that says "automatically detect settings". Click okay, and that should fix your problem. You have that have those options enabled to let some common programs detect your internet connectivity.
