Sound and audio device is not working

We'd need more information to be able to help here, has Windows been recently reinstalled on the computer? It may not have the driver installed.

If you can let us know if it was working previously, if Windows has been recently installed and what the sound device is exactly, we should be able to help a bit further.

If you're not sure what the sound device is, if you let us know what the computer/laptop is, we should we able to find out.

My laptop sounds has gone

Try
1. Remove the audio driver and reinstall it. (My Computer right-click > Properties > Device Manager > Audio Devices > Reinstall Drivers)
2. Check if some other software which you are using is controlling the audio driver. (Restart in Safe mode and see if the sound is working)
3. Take expert help from a technician..You sound card might have stopped working.

Hi Mam, what is the specific model of your laptop? You have to install the right drivers for the audio to work properly. Let me know the model of your laptop so I can show you the link where to download the drivers that you need.

I have it paired to my laptop but it keeps saying it cant install the audio driver

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have made the correct adjustments there

click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can make adjustments there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
hope this helps

I have reinstall the windows xp prof to my hp laptop. wen i play music no sounds. wat should i do?

The reason you dont have any sound is that the sound card on your Laptop needs a driver to work normally again, There is usually a website where you can download the drivers from the manufacturer of your laptop for example : dell, compaq.. just reply with the model of your computer and i can help you find the necessary drivers for the sound.
Cheers !!!

If No sound
Try this solution :

- Make sure the speakers are connected, powered, and turned up.
- Make sure the volume is up and not muted in the Windows volume control and Windows sound mixer.
- Make sure sounds are enabled in the Multimedia/Sounds applet in Control Panel.
- Check audio connectors. Make sure they are in the right jacks and free from damage.
- Run SFC.
- Check Device Manager for an installed sound card.
- Install or reinstall the sound driver.
- Try a known good sound card.
- Update your soundcard driver from internet, you can check http://driverguide.com

If Bad sound
Try this solution :

- Check the audio connectors. Make sure they are in the right jacks and free from damage.
- Run SFC.
- Enable or disable digital sound playback in the sound card properties in Device Manager.
- Check to see if the sound card is next to the video card. If so, try separating them.
- Reinstall the sound driver.
- Check for a BIOS update. Some BIOS updates allow a computer to run cooler, especially laptops.

You can install your sound card from the mainboard cd that came with your laptop or computer.

All the best

Sound problem

you can look in device manager in control panel and look in the hardware list and see if there is any yellow exclamation marks, if so this is probably your sound device not having a driver. If you are sure there is no problem with the driver, then click start>run, then type dxdiag and press enter. Look in the sound tab and click test to see if there is a driver fault.
