Long reach hedge trimmer

Just bought a Husqvarna 325HE4x long reach hedge trimmer online. Tried it today. The engine runs okay but when I open the throttle the cutter blades don't move at all. Being the weekend i can't get hold of the supplier!

Any idea what may be wrong?

Try loosening the bolts up on the blades just enough to allow the washers to move freely a little, spray the blades down (but don't soak them ) with WD40 to lubricate the blades, that should solve it. If that doesn't do it then you may need to pull the gear housing cover off to see if something is jammed.

Whats the fuel/oil mix ratio for unidentified hedge trimmer?

It's always better to have more oil than less. The high end trimmers like Stihl Husqvarna etc mostly take 50:1 ... The avg is 40:1 ... If you know the cc of the engine that's a good start, but even just going with a 50 to 1 ratio won't kill your unit, u may have some white smoke, light... that's okay, that's just the oil burning...if it's a low cc unit, just go with 40 to 1. Better safe than sorry.

Where do I get a new ignition coil for my 323L trimmer

Are you sure its the coil.? Have you tried relesing the fuel cap and trying it again.? Could possibly the fuel tank vent, creating vaccum in the tank and starving the engine.

What oil mix ratio do i use for my huskvarna 123hd60

Husqvarna engines are made to tighter tolerances and are designed to run cooler. This is why the manufacturer recommends running a 50:1 mix. A richer mix of oil (such as 40:1) will run in the trimmer, but it will make alot of smoke, foul the spark plug, and clog the spark arrestor in a short period of time.

I recommend you stick with the 50:1 mix, and use Husqvarna, Stihl, or Echo 2 cycle mix. All three of these 2-cycle oils are a high grade oil designed to run in air cooled engines and they should not be substituted with cheaper brands

Bought it today, it just stopped working. Worked beautifully for about 30 minutes. I would think something is caught in the blades, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Check the blades very carefully! There can be a small twig, wire or most anything in there. Also, plug it into another extension cord to make sure the one you were using is okay. Good luck...Lee
