It sounds as though you have blocked permissions. Is this your personal pc or a company machine? if it is a company machine then you need to interface with your network administrator to resolve your issue.
If it is your personal pc, then you must log on as the administrator to perform this installation, and i would also advise you to go to your printer manufacturer's web site and get the latest vista drivers. Vista is still relatively new and new drivers are popping up everyday. Good luck!
