I bought the new Tamron 20-200 lens and after trying it on my Canon 7D non of my lenses will focus on that camera. What has happened?

Sure you did not switch to manual focus while testing the Tamron? Sure all settings are correct?
If the Tamron still auto focusses on you 7D, check the forums about this. I know Nikon sometimes messes up the firmware, when a non Nikon lens is used, but not on all camera's. And not with every firmware.
I don't know the 7D enough to check more details, but check everything about the AF settings. I can't imagine your lens did something wrong with the camera.

My d80 stops functioning and shows F----!! Any help would be great thanks.

This is usually a lens issue. If the lens is not properly attached or the lens is a non-cpu lens it shows this error. If you are using an older non-cpu, you have to switch to M-mode to use it.

F--error even though I cleaned connections with lens and camera

Hi mmarushack, in the manual page 132 it states that the F- - error means the lens is not attached or a non CPU lens is attached. If a older non CPU lens is attached select M mode. That would be on the right side of the lens mount as you face the front of the camera. The assumption is you have a CPU lens then I would suggest doing a reset of the camera. Open the terminal rubber flap on the left side of the camera. Just below the USB connector is a small push button. That resets the camera thus fixes you camera. If not do call Nikon at 800-645-6689

D50 reads f-- and wont take pictures

What lens? Either you have a non-CPU lens which requires that you use it in Manual (M) mode, or it's a CPU lens and the contacts aren't engaged properly. Remove the lens, clean the contacts, reattach the lens, and jiggle it a little to seat the contacts.

I have a d80 and while I have a Nikon AE lens, I also have a collection of older Nikon lens's. They work outside but don't work with a flash. Can you tell me if there is any way to fix this problem?...

I found this in my D80 manual regarding non-cpu lenses and their limitations:

The non-CPU lenses listed below may be used, but only when the camera is in mode M. Selecting
another mode disables the shutter release. Aperture must be adjusted manually via the lens aperture
ring and the camera autofocus system, metering, electronic analog exposure display,

** and TTL flash control can not be used. **

Except where otherwise noted, the electronic range fi nder can be used with
lenses that have a maximum aperture of f/5.6 or faster.
• AI-modifi ed, AI-, AI-S, or Series E Nikkor
• Medical Nikkor 120 mm f/4 (can only be used at
shutter speeds slower than 1/180 s)
• Refl ex Nikkor (electronic range fi nder can not be
used)
• PC Nikkor (electronic range fi nder can not be
used when shifting or tilting lens)
• AI-type teleconverter *
• PB-6 Bellows focusing attachment (attach in vertical
orientation; can be used in horizontal orientation
once attached) *
• Auto extension rings (PK 11A, 12, 13; PN-11) *
* Electronic range fi nder can be used if maximum effective
aperture is f/5.6 or faster.

There is a great deal of info in the manual about the use of other compatible Nikon devices. If you have lost your manual, you can view / download it here:
