I don't get shell integration of webroot so I cannot request the scan of a single file from WINDOWS MENU. This is a Windows Vista Home Premium, 64-bit.
The "Programs" tag in webroot's options doesn't show a tickable button to select that option.
If I install it in XP I get shell integration.
I thought it was an installation problem, some option not selected during the installation process so I unistalled and reinstalled the most updated version (sent to me by Webroot). But same thing still...

I have the same problem: Webroot 2011 no longer detects and quarantines cookies. If you go to the Webroot Support page and type "no longer quarantine cookies", it offers the generated issue: "You want to know why Internet Explorer cookies are not detected in a scan"; to which it offers the following answer: "A recent Microsoft security update (KB 2559049) [...check your Windows updater, I got this security update on my computer on August 10th...] prevents Webroot security programs from identifying spy cookies on systems where the update is applied. Although these cookies cannot be detected, your core antivirus and anti-spyware protection is not compromised. Viruses and spyware are still blocked. Webroot engineers are actively investigating options to restore spy cookie detections and any solutions will be provided in an upcoming release." (This statement is not dated; I am looking at it now, August 28th, 2011, on their Webroot Support page.) I have Windows Vista operating system and Webroot 2011 version 220.127.116.11. My Webroot Antivirus with Spy Sweeper hasn't swept up anything in scans in the last couple of weeks, but it did block an internet site last night; so I think it's still working. Hope this helps!
Webroot may provide you with a free upgrade if you recently purchased your software.
All customers who purchased software from Webroot Software are eligible for free replacement and software updates within one year of their original date of purchase (or the purchase of a registration renewal).
Although in my humble opinion Spy sweeper is a bit of a resource hog and does not provide the best protection against malware/Spyware. I would recommend checking out malware bytes Anti-malware (they have both a free and a paid PRO version that has automatic protection). It is much more effective, cheaper, and your pc will run faster with this then spysweeper.
As far as I know spysweeper works good only in Windows XP not in Vista. You contact spysweeper customer care and tell your problem. Each software has some trail period. So if you were not satisfied with the product you can return it and get your money back.
I did the live chat support. They were very helpful. Gave me a link to redownload the spysweeper product, since mine wouldnt let me do anything. It did work and my spysweeper is working great now. http://www.webroot.com/company/support/. Went to that site. requested a download and they sent it to my email right away.
i read thru all the other posts and solutions. i kept trying to run as administrator and it wasn't working. the only thing i WASN'T doing was shutting down spysweeper first! in the tray at the bottom, right click and hit shut down...then right click on the desktop icon and run as administrator. everything worked and i'm doing a sweep now!! thanks!
