Question about Cuisinart SPB-7 SmartPower Work Top Blender

Hi, I need my KRUPS blender to be fixed, basically brand new and hardly been used, its been in storage for 2 years but just wont start. The model nbr is type 577 app: q99316. When i bought this it was the top of the range and I assumed that it would also be heavy duty and one of the more reliable blenders to buy, but it has barely been used at all and only for simple things like thick shakes and blending soups??? Any help on cost of fixing and where I can take it to be repaired would be appreciated. I live in elanora heights Nsw Aust. This blender was bought from David Jones but I no longer have the receipt. Do the lights come on but the motor won't come on? I had the same issue with my Cuisinart blender.

The problem is very often a thermal fuse. It protects the motor by opening the circuit if there is too much current or if the motor is overheating. If indeed this is the issue with yours, the device is less than $2 each is sold at Radio Shack but finding someone to replace it for you might be hard. On my motor there were two thermal fuses taped onto each stator winding. It took about 1-1/2 hours of work to remove and rework because of the unusual location.

Another part that often blows is the triac that controls the motor. This is around $4 but again, it's finding someone who can replace it with the correct replacement.

Brand new. Pulse feature stuck ON. Tried OFF. Tried unplugging. Still only pulses, no blending. Tried a dozen times.


So when plugged in it always just runs on the pulse? I would assume that this is an issue with the control board inside. If this is brand new return it to the store and exchange for a different blender.
You could also contact Krups to see how they work their warranties but you most likely need the control board replaced and that is something a service center would have to do for you.

Im having trouble with my Back to Basics Blender Solution 5500 Blender it will not start and i just would like to know if i should throw it out or try to fix it.

How can I open akrups gpa3 blender.It does not work only 3 years


The body of the blender is held together by three cross head screws two at the base which are clearly visable and a third which is concealed by the pulse on/off switch which you need to prise off to reveal - small spring to rear to catch! Our blender went totally dead due to a blown internal fuse which I have now replaced and hey presto we are back in action.

Like you, I am all for repairing and keeping the world free of blenders that only need one part replaced. The rubber coupling was easily ordered online, the challenge I later found was to remove it without losing my sanity. After messing up the side grill of the blender pretty good, I realized there is an opening on the motor casing that allows access to a "gear" that is firmly attached to the axle where our little friend will hopefully screw on and restore the contraption to a working state. In order for you to see (which I must warn you, it's not much of a view) through the grill you will need a flashlight or book light. Towards the top of the aforementioned gear (not the rubber part) there is a groove in which a flat screwdriver can easily fit immobilizing the axle and allowing you to easily unscrew it. Oh, but wait, I forgot this is the faulty part and it will spin without the slightest torque on the axle thus never loosening or getting it unscrewed. My solution to this problem was to surgically remove as much rubber as possible to allow me to attach my vise grip to the nut and finally put this thing out of its misery. Using the same procedure of inserting the screwdriver to immobilize the axle I was able to screw the new part and voila the blender is fixed!!!!

I didn't find any 3rd party sellers who had this part - even the manufacturer only lists the blender jar as a replaceable part, but I would call them anyways. I work for one of their competitors, and we often have substitute parts that are not listed on our website.

Machine does not blend at ALL .


I have had great luck talking to Back to Basics - here is their info...if it is new- should be under warranty.
