Question about HP Pavilion dv2000t Notebook
First of all, not sure whether the Notebook is checked by connecting any Desktop Monitor or not...here is the procedure to do so to find out whether the issue is with the LCD Display of the Notebook or with the Display card or the Motherboard....
Turn on the Notebook by pressing the Power Button and after some time...say 3 minutes, connect the Desktop Monitor to the VGA Port of the Notebook. Now, press hold the FN key and press the F4 Key to to toggle the display to the Desktop monitor.
If there is display shown on the Desktop Monitor, the issue is with the LCD and if there is no display on the Desktop monitor either, the issue can be with the Graphic Card or with the Motherboard itself.
We can also try this steps to fix the issue if it is caused due to Static Charges :
I recommend you to perform Power Drain procedure by following these steps: 1. Disconnect the AC Adapter. 2. Remove the Battery. Note: Please see that there are no external devices or cables connected to the Notebook. 3. Hold the Power button down for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
4. Reconnect the AC adapter and do NOT connect the battery now. 5. Turn on the Notebook power.
If the issue persists, then we need to try removing and reseating the Memory Modules(RAM) of the Notebook by following the instructions available in the manual of the Notebook. The Manual of your Notebook model can be found from the link below :
You can find the required instructions to remove and reseat the Memory from the Notebook starting from page number 113 of 284 in the Manual.
Additionally, if your notebook is installed with AMD Processor, get the Product Number of the Notebook which will be available printed on a white sticker pasted at the bottom of the Notebook and is indicated with P/N.
Find if the Product Number of your Notebook is listed among the list in the link below:
If yes, then, you are eligible to get the Notebook repaired for free if it is currently available in US or Canada.
You need to contact HP Chat Support and let them know the steps you had performed to initiate the repair process.
