Try running the Check Disk utility.

To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc ora operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot fromit. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with whiteletters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice thepercentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run tocompletion. Then reboot machine.

If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows.Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.

In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair whenthe options appear.

In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recoveryconsole and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.

No recovery discs

If you have any windows xp bootable cd use that to fix the problem by running the command chkdsk /r/f or you can try with this just restart the system in safe mode with command prompt and type the command like c:\windows>chkdsk
And
c:\windows>chkdsk /r/f

You need to download "ophcrack" on another pc and burn it to a cd or dvd, then switch your laptop on, insert the disc and reboot. The PC should boot from the disc you inserted and run it's own live operating system designed to run one program, a program that finds all your windows passwords in 10 minutes. It's completely free too.

For a video tutorial, click go to: http://revver.com/video/638513/discover-windows-xp-passwords-in-10-mins/

For a more detailed written explanantion, go to the makers website here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ophcrack

I've used it a couple of times and it just works (with xp and vista).

Good luck!

ASUS eeePC 900 Keeps rebooting at XP load screen.

You're computer is booting that's not your problem. Its just not booting into Windows which is a different subject, so a boot disk will not do you any good. You have some corrupted files at the Windows end not the start up end. The only way to correct the Windows corrupt files is to use a Windows disc. So you'll have to buy/borrow a portable DVD/CD player and a copy of windows. Once the Windows disc loads then its just a matter of clicking on "repair" when the disc asks..that one of the drawbacks of netbooks..If you have any questions let me know..

WRONG RESTORE CD IN HP PAVILION A1330N

Alright, if I understand you...You possibly lost the original operating system disc for your HP Pavilion, and your daughter used a Windows XP restore disc, and now it is asking you to register the software?

AND you also lost the set-up software for your Internet provider?
