If it starts for 5 seconds out less, and you notice a security light on the dash, go to this link for answers. Gm are notorious for failing antitheft systems http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

SOURCE: will the car stay running if the batterie is disconected

It should stay running. If your alternator is bad it may not stay running but in all cases it should stay running.

I have a VERY BAD oil leak on my '97 Chevy Venture van. What all can it be ? Can I fix it myself ?

1st u must clean the engine of all grease and dirt, then run it until u can see the source of the oil leak, based on what is leaking will determine the difficulty of repair at home.

I have a 97 Chevy Venture Van with a weakening fuel level sensor.

No it's not, if your van is running fine, fuel pump is good, just the fuel gauge sending unit is bad, to repair, the gas tank will have to come off, the sending unit sit on the same hanger the fuel pump is on.

97 venture 4 speed electronic transmission not shifting into 4th

4th clutch hub splines are stripped off. GM didn't harden the splines until 2004 or so so the early model gradually wear to the point where they are so thin they strip off - and then, no 4th gear
